Out of curiosity who's been to what games?

Terms of Atmosphere best away ground (in Europe) ive been for it was possibly Roma with United in 2007, Celtic was noisy both in 206 and last season however the away end was on top for most of the game and when Giggs scored the home end went dead. Rangers away in 2004 was moody and also very very loud.

Anfield is a myth, Great when the cameras are there in the latter stages in Europe and maybe against United or Everton but standared games its as bad as anywhere. Sing when your winning is an apt term to describe them.

I may be biased but i have never experienced a level of sustained noise and support as United beating Barcelona in 2008 from start to finish a constant shrill easily eclipsing the roma (at home) atmosphere the previous season.

Cardiff was great day out , The new Wembley is pathetic.

In England, When spurs sing "Oh when the spurs go marching in" Slowly it is excellent. The rest of the london clubs are quite poor, Arsenal are pathetic.West Ham have bubbles and not a whole pile else.

After that the likes of Leeds, Everton, the Sheffield clubs always make a din. Leeds when United are in town is quite an atmosphere. Volitaile i think its called!!

Sam for the hills? Anfield is a myth? Clearly you havent been there apart from the highlights on motd, try an early kick off on new years day against Bolton. the place was rockin. Or any group stage game in the cl. I have been to many a match and they have eclipsed places like old trafford easily.
try standing in the middle of the Kop in CL against Arsenal and a 4 2 win.

And GAA matches dont have atmospheres, just a load of people shouting come on or get stuck in or go on, the only exception being at croke park when every one is full shouting the same thing.

Atmospheres vary, mostly depending on the opposition and the course of the game can build or dampen atmosphere. I am a regular at Parkhead and witnessed atmosphere that would make you cry with emotion, I have also sat through matches and I might as well have been in a Funeral Home. Old Firm games and European nights are usually very special in Parkhead. The night Naka scored the free kick and Boruc saved a late penalty to beat United stands out in my mind but there have been many memorable occasions particularly against Rangers. I'll be there next Tuesday night for the Arsenal Game and again I am expecting it to be a very special night.

Galatasaray is supposed to be class, but is it not in Asia?

My Choice: The Galgenwaard in Utrecht

Galatasaray are in Istanbul therefore either Europe or Asia, It depends on what side of the Bosporus they play on. I'm pretty sure Fenerbahce play on the European side and Galatasaray on the Asian side.

It must be Firhill when Glasgow's second team, Clyde, come to town. Best atmosphere at a gaelic match I attended was Dublin V Donegal replay in the championship a few years back.

I was at the stadio olimpico a few years back on a school tour, roma vs Milan, actualy it was the game before the man u game were the fans got batered, but anyway our teacher got us the cheapest tickets, her not having a clue about football, and we were in with the ultras behind the goals in the enclosure next to the milan fans. roma scored in front of us after about 2 mins and the place went mad!!! evryone ran down to the glass wall around the running track, we nearly got crushed! and then both sets of fans started throwing bottles at each other, and then a few flares were lobbed over and back, and then the milan fans started to burn roma scarves! the riot police came in and hammered the crap out of them!! it was unbelievable!!

Gottabetrue.

Ive been there when its been worse than Old Trafford, for a team that prides its self on its manifactured atmosphere and 'traditon' its far from the truth.

One of my mates is a Barnsley fan i was there when they knocked Liverpool out the cup, ive also been there before many times with United, Once with spurs and once sat in with the cretins in the anny road. Theres never been one time when ive actually went - "My word Now theres an atmosphere" -like in celtic park 06 .

old thread I came across, from games I have been to the best atmosphere I have seen was at Boca Juniors game, ground was full an hour before the game, non stop music, singing, leaping about, can only imagine what it would be like when they play River Plate. After that the Athens Derby was pretty intense, even with no away fans allowed in. Also was at the San Siro for Milan v Juve once and that was fairly good, Dortmund last season was pretty good too. Atmosphere to at the Ireland's games in the Euro's last year was pretty good as well.
Two places I have gone that I felt were overhyped were Celtic and Newcastle, think unless its a big game the atmosphere there isn't as great as people like to make out.
Drawing up a list of grounds/Games I want to go to, Anfield is the one in UK I've never been but like to go to. Seville Derby, Belgrade Derby, Marseille, Hadjuk Split v Dynamo Zagreb.Going to the Rome Derby in Feb.
