Liam I was equally appalled by the anti Dublin abuse and both started a thread against it and spoke out on other threads against it. I felt equally hurt by the abuse and taunting during the Cork Hurling dispute, after the demolition job KK done on us in the National League, and after our defeat by Galway. Like your good self I also considered quitting the site. But hey man we are bigger then them, a lot of them are probably young kids who know no better and even those of them that have reached the use of reason dont seem to realise that when they pile on the abuse, they are not reaching the few clowns that every County has supporting them. Instead they are hurting the dozen or so regular Dublin posters like yourself, jimbodub, tom, hipster Snuff etc. who regularly interact with them and entertain them on a variety of posts. You and I have crossed swords in the past, with a couple of your Celtic threads but that is all forgotten. Stay on man and together we will beat the bigots. Also if you read my thread "Lay Off the Dubs" you will see there are a lot of other decent lads out there who feel the same as us. Hope you change your mind and look forward to chatting with you again in the future.

There was the odd thread on this site suggesting it was Dublin's best ever chance to beat Kerry and one suggested it could be a massacre in favour of Dublin, but in the main the Dubs lads on this site add a lot to the site & bring a bit of colour to it, just like they do in GAA. Now is not the time for anyone to quit the board - see out the year's GAA and take stock in the first week of October. There's a lot to be decided yet.

Liam.I know you are suffering today but ignore those who God help us were not supplied with brains on birth. I know others who have left for various reasons but I think by staying within we may all help to bring change.

Alot of the posts yesterday went way over the top, however alot of it was brought on by the dubs.

No doubt if the score had been the other way around you would have been on here with some patronising thread, gloating about the dubs.

Theres alot of dislike for dublin due to their arrogance .

True but very often it's not their players officials or fans that are arrogant. To be fair the media uses Dublin to their advantage. If Dublin win Leinster you'll get souvenir posters in the paper etc. If Dublin lose, the media are all over it - anything to sell papers. And very often those talking about Dublin winning All-Ireland's are not those in the dublin camp at all.

I'm sure the Dubs are hurting now but hurling & football would be a lot more dull without them. Love them or hate them you can't deny Dublin GAA is a huge part of the wider organisation.

Liam Rise above it

Believe me we also feel the pain - Thankfully we are not getting the same abuse (Irvinestown Gael going onto Donegal boards excluded)
Dont take the bait and the idiots will hopefully thin out.

to be honest the wind up stuff is fine needs to be given and needs to taken in the same spirit- Its the abusive stuff thats hard to stomach

I'm sorry but there is no parallel between Dublin's defeat yesterday and the 2 Cork defeats you mentioned. The Dublin hurlers and footballers have not to my mind ever withdrawn services to their county. The only time Dublin were involved in such an incident was against Cork when Cork refused to play extra time in a league game so they could get the train home!

Personally as a Mayo man i felt for Dublin yesterday. I couldnt believe that some Mayo posters were having a go at the Dubs. As Mayo people we should understand what it feels like and not be so childish. How short are our memories?

Just a word to 3inarow and thykingdomcome. There has been no abuse that I have seen from any Kerry poster nor would I expect any, ye guys have class on and off the field. I just knew after the Munster Final that ye had not gone away and posted straight away that I felt we would have to meet and beat ye again in Dublin before this year is out. There is a small matter of Tyrone standing in our way before that but shur hope springs eternal.

Jimbodub are you going to apologise for your posts during the week or not?

Accusing me of starting a thread "that on Tuesday would look rather embarrasing when Limerick had beaten Meath and Dublin had beaten Kerry". What was that supposed to mean? I hope that if we beat Mayo and progress FURTHER than Dublin, the fact that you beat us will still lie as easy with you?

I have no beef atall with lads here slagging over the match, absolutely none. We deserve every bit of it. Its the use of words such as "S**m" "Animals" and worst of all HATE that i just cant abide. Its ompletely wrong and goes against everything the GAA Stands for. HATE...I Mean seriously...HATE....! And it wasnt only one or 2 lads either. As i said already...they say we are soccer fans....they are a parody of them selves but havent the intelligence to realise it!

Loyal

I think it was me who posted that, not Jimbodub. As it has turned out, Meath beat Limerick so well done on that one.

Liam will be back. By the amount of posts he has I'd say the HS is a major part of his life.....don't think he could leave it go over a few abusive posts. I haven't read any of these posts myself but I can imagine some people going over he top on this result.
I thought Kerry would win this one myself but didn't expect the dubs to collapse the way they did. I still can't understand how the bookies had Kerry at 6/4 to win the match.
Us Monaghan men took a lot of abuse this year on the HS too, but you get over it. I know we are a better team than a lot of the posts we got this year suggests. Looking forward to the league now which is going to be a major battle for us to stay in Div 1, just a pity it is so long away!

Who said this though? Give us some examples, even the Admin reckon nobody posted the word s**m. If anyone posted that sort of stuff it's a bit over the top.

Thank you Slayer. An enjoyable game and one where we were delighted to come out on the right side of the result. Hard luck to Limerick. Jimbodub still posted a few silly things during the week

The dubs are a sound bunch of supporters. I remember havin great banter with them before the semi in 2006 and they were very gracious after it. Dublin were not at the races yesterday and there's no better team than Kerry to pile on the misery. We have been on the receiving end of it ourselves before. Hard to know what went wrong.. Dublin lacked intensity whereas Kerry looked really up for it. Regarding abuse givin to dub fans I say dont give into it.. The Dubs will be back.

Thank you to JoeSoap who brought to our attention the use of the word 'scum' in one post on 'The abuse Dublin and their fans take' thread. The post has been removed and the poster barred from this forum.
