I was talking to a Clones man at the weekend and he has great hope for the minors, with Martin Hennesy lead the attack.. He has all the quality that a good target man need, strength, pace and skill. Only relatively young yet at 19, but could he be the next Michael Murphy for Monaghan. Unfortantely college commitments in the North-West limits young Martins training, which could have an imapct on weather or not he'll be selected for County in the near future.

Interesting to note that of the panel of 30 players only 13 come from division 1 clubs at minor level. Players can only be judged when they compete regularily against the best oponents week in week out. I can think of at least 2 Truagh players who are better than 12 of that minor panel at this time as they have proved themselves in the heat of competitive championship football.

The panel picked last weekend is controversial to say the least. a number of players can be feel disappointed at how the panel were chosen. the treanor scotstowns, mc guigans clontibret, keenan aughnamullen, mc quaid seans, mc nally corduff, graham and mcguinness oram, has been strangely snubbed from the panel. players have been included who didnt attend trials or set up to the mark in colleges action, there were chosen on reputation and the club there form, outside influences have played a part in selection as usual as bernie selectors have not been attending games prior to xmas and therefore are unable to make judgements on players they have never seen. there will be wholesale changes when the panel is reviewed in May. but by then the damage has been done.

i agree with the last 2 posts above, some strange picks and some fellas who should be there are not. But just on pat3 saying that there will be wholesale changes when the pannel is reviewed in may this may will be the case as there is some people who should be there, but them lads who were mentioned in posts above treanors (scotstown), mc guigans (clontibert) and them truagh lads would they be intrested joining up with the squad before championship seeing they were deemed not good enough in the first place by the management and also the fact that they would probaly rather concentate on winning with there clubs (seeing as they will all probaly be there or thereabouts for honours) who appreciate them??

yes i agree with 11811. Danny Mc Nally from seans wud be a huge bonus 2 any team and is wel fit 2 play at this level of football. I seen him in a couple of games for the seans, He is a very big physical man.
