I've been on this site a few days now and all I get is grief over being from Mayo..........what is the deal? I haven't -picked on anyone from anyone other county except for having some banter with them. -I love football and love Mayo and I'm sure you feel the same about your county. -I'm not ignorant, I'm fairly well educated. -I don't actually hate any other county, I shout for any team that makes it out of Connaght. -I don't go around making assumptions about prople because they are from a different county. Anyways, got that out of my system.............. I'm sure there are fools from every county but surely they can't represent all the people from a county.............again I never make assumptions because someone is from a certain county but if someone is a fool, that mens they are a fool not the whole county. Sorry for ranting on but it's just I feel myself getting angry at this rubbish that is going on. People need to man up and actually hate the person, not the county. I'm sure this happens to other counties as well, but what I have seen so far is stupid and annoying. Cheers Mayo for Sam...........lol

Cranky There are a few renowned Mayo Posters on the site who specialise in winding up and insulting other Counties and all you are seeing is a reaction to those couple of lads. I am a GAA supporter for over 50 years and Mayo would be a team I'd dearly love to see winning Sam however I must admit from time to time these guys get to me and almost make me wish to see Mayo lose to shut them up.

I personnally dont talk football with mayo people off this board or else id have no friends from mayo. From a football perspective yer hard to take, with the constant arrogance, and downright ignorance towards us and our border.

here here cranky360, i find myself trying to defend our county a few times lately and in fairness its only one or too eejits from mayo who are giving the rest of us a bad name but at the end of the day this is an internet forum and in the real world i generally get a good response when people find out im from mayo.

I am with corkcelt here.

Mayo have had a tough time in finals these past few years and many wouldn't mind if they actually did win Sam. However there are more than a right few WUMS and cheeky so and so's on HS with Mayo loyalties. They spend a lot of time insulting, winding up, annoying others and boasting about what Mayo are going to do. They more than anything give Mayo a bad press and lead to some of us retaliating in kind. I have had a go at Mayo these past few days but that was more a reaction to the nonsense that these Mayo posters come out with than actually any antipathy to Mayo. Don't take it to heart cranky most of it is just spur of the minute stuff but some of your own county men don't do you any favours.

"Some" of the Mayo posters on this site over the years have been a disgrace. As the represantives of the county on this forum it does colour peoples judgements. I do however suspect that some of the more abnoixious Mayo posters may not actually be from Mayo. It is one of the limitations of this discussion board that we do not really know if people are from where they claim. People should therefore not judge a county by its alleged posters but it can be very difficult if the red rag is waved in your face not to react and maybe say things that are not meant.
