in the space of ten years the club has gone from been the best in the county to relegation material.between them and connollys.Terror how the recession has hit these 2teams hard

recession me butt. You don't see Slashers complaining about the recession. Your either good enough or your not. We are and teams like Drumlish are not.

definitely deserve to go down after losing to rathcline, before championship started the rats would have been my favourites for relegation. only caught the last ten minutes of that match, drumlish must have been atrocious throughout?
it happens roy, we only come up after 1995, clonguish were as bad as you could get in the late 80s/early 90s and now look at all 3 clubs and where they are at.

Slashers dont need to complain when they have the likes of you coming on this website wringing about this that and the other.

i'd love to see FMG being relegated, they are a horrible club full of arrogance about nothing

Would hardly attribute decline of drumlish solely to recession!!! Smaller rural clubs go through peaks and troughs. Drumlish were at their peak in late 90's. Did county proud in interclub scene in leinster and played some decent football along way, at bit of low ebb at moment sure. Feel it would be unfortunate for them to be relegated, esp. after recent minor success and impressive club grounds which is credit to area. Given some of league wins this year hardly that off the pace---me thinks!!

ha ondaflop that is a bit harsh dont think there are many people who would be of that view. The Gaels only hope is fellow strugglers connollys, very worried about going down though. We will be a real force in 3/4 years looking on the bright side.

I dont understand why a club would LOVE to see Drumlish go down. They have brought alot to Longford for over 10 years. There is a few posts here which are basically just stupid. And everyone knows the ones im talking about. There are some posts from clubs here and all they have done is reach county finals and not win anything, they then turn around and discriminate the most successful club in longford. Teams like Drumlish, Clonguish, Dromard, Abbeylara, Ballymahon and as of late Colmcille, really know whats its like to win champions. All of these teams have players, playing, with 1 or more senior championship medals in their pocket, Currently Drumlish are rebuilding a team from young and could take a few years to come together, But when that happens They team could be serious contenders again with recent minor and under 16 championship wins. As i said tho, it could take a few years but they dont deserve to go down

If Rathcline can beat them you would imagine there bein no hope for them.No marquee in Drumlish this year!

I for one hope drumlish avoid relegation. They have had a poor start to the championship but there league form this year has been good.
Connollys and granard have brought nothing to the senior grade this year and so should be relegated IMO!

Dont get what all the smart and negative comments about Fr. Manning Gaels are about. Do people forget that the Gaels team of the late 90's is the last "great" team to come out of longford for about 15-20 years? Other teams may have had as good players but didnt even come close to their levels of achievement!

FMG would be favourites to beat connollys if it goes to a play off. It'd be strange to see division 1 without the gaels.

hitman the gaels are safe enough in div 1, it would be strange a senior championship without the windies. Won't come to that though. Maybe you should tog out yourself if your so worried? I presume your a windy.

ondaflop u are completely right there is no team id rather see relegated than drumlish. i think that if they are relegated we will not see them playing senior football again for years as they seem to have not much talent coming up through their underage ranks.
