RED JUMPER

i was wondering has Jimmy Killeen ever got any run or involvement with the county set up? I m pretty sure he didnt at under age. Id be right in saying he will be 28 some time this year?

you picked out one player there messi. Simon Cloherty. beautiful gaelic footballer who never even played at underage level. to my knowledge he wasnt even involved in trials when he was young. I think he was briefly involved in the junior panel one year. he would be an excellent scoring wing forward now in his prime at 27. too many players are overlooked. this man has carried parke for the last 5 or 6 years, perhaps parke have little representation on the county board? barry moran is a decent player i like the guy, however cloherty is 3 times the player he is. its a disgrace really that he never even got a chance. CLOHERTY FOR NO. 12. 3/4 points a game EASY

The fact that he carried Parke for all these years is testiment to how bad the other players are at parke. Parke are a Junior Club and thats the way its going to stay for many a year

paddyogall!!!
U obviously caught Simon on a bad day wen u saw his game!! He is a lot more than an average footballer.... Im not a Parke man but they have had some tussles wit certain west mayo teams over the years and are a good intermediate team!! I no they are jumior this yr but i would like to see them back in intermediate.
Back to my point, i think simon should have been involved with a senior mayo team, but at this satge he is probably just not bothered.

I didnt say we were any better! he is not that good though in all fairness. Lots of internal squabbles at Parke so i'm led to believe

No i agree with you paddy. County standard? Is he even their top scorer? I would argue there are better forwards in the junior championship, let alone the county.

I go to a lot of games in the county each week and have watched aghamore 2-3 times recently. their full forward alan freeman is a class act. in a recent u 21 game he kicked 1-8 off kevin keane from westport. i went to this game cos i think both of these have great potential for us in the future they had a great battle.both of these will feature for the senior team and should be in the panel now ahead of mickey sweeney and kieran conroy respectively

Ever wondered why some supposedly talented players never make it.?
The answer to this can be found in any of the Mayo Pubs. What a waste.

While we are on the subject of Hollymount..... How long will it be before Holly and Carramore join up at senior level and form a good strong St Gers adult club aswell. It seems crazy that they banish all their work from U10 to U21 by forming two seperate adult clubs. They had a good U21 team a few years ago - but where are they now. What would the players like to see....2 clubs or one at adult level?
