Leinster hurling is crap. Wexford and Offaly are rubbish and getting worse. At least the Dubs have put in a big effort and appear to be able to give the Cats a game. They privince is so bad they even had to put a Connaught team in it to try make it competitive. How can you even compare this to what Munster has to offer! Its like comparing the Premiership to League One ( Kilkenny excluded ).

Ever try going to a Leinster Final, I remember some great athmospheres, KK vs Wexford 04, Wexford vs Offaly 04, and plenty others try KK vs Galway 3. Kilkenny are leinster so yes leinster are the strongest.the last 2 finals against munster teams were over after 15 mins and they were the stongest in munster.

This thread is ridiculous but so is your post. Whether there are 20 Kilkenny men on Leinster if they beat the rest of Munster then to me that still means that Leinster is better. Those jokes are true about Kerrymen aren't they. Also Leinster hurling is better than munster until a Munster team wins the All-Ireland final end of story. All the arguments in the world can be thrown in there but at the end of the day the Cup is sitting in Kilkenny which from my understanding is in Leinster. So to all those knocking Leinster hurling we are the champions until somebody beats Kilkenny from Munster, Connaught or Ulster.

Lads I just wrote it for the craic. I kinda got a kick out of writing it. If you want my opinion on the thing just read Corkcelt's post, that would be the general jist of it plus the fact I can't stand this highly defensive attitude from leinster folk. People are getting confused between Leinster hurling vs Munster hurling and the Leinster Championship vs the Munster Championship. In my mind, there's no question that the Munster Championship is better, because it's highly competitive and every team goes into it with the belief that they can win. I don't think this exists in any other provincial championship, and the weight of history can hit a team's self-belief hard. The fact is, Galway aside, there isn't a team in Leinster that believed they could beat Kilkenny. And that's what's damaged the Leinster Championship.

As for Leinster hurling vs Munster hurling, there's no doubting that Kilkenny were the best team in the country for the past three seasons, and it's been a long time since anyone has looked close to beating them. On the strength of that, Leinster could be called the stronger hurling province at the moment. However, the only other Leinster county to win a match in the All-Ireland series in those three years has been Wexford beating Tipp in 2007. I know Kilkenny are the number 1 hurling team (for now), but there isn't another Leinster team in the rest of the top 5.

tricleacman, an Ulster man talking about others being defensive about their province! You couldn't make it up! MUnster is certainly been more competitive over the past few years but some of best games I've seen have been Leinster matches between Cats, Wexford and Offaly and we've been in a few good games ourselves. This year Leinster has had at least four good quality and exciting matches (KK/Galway, KK/Dubs, Dubs/Wex, Wex/Offaly) which is about the same as Munster (Tipp/Cork, Tipp/Clare, Waterford/LImerick replay) and should be a good game on Sunday. Anyway, besides this silly 'which province is the best', just enjoy it and the fact that there are great games to come and the championship is far from over compared to situation last September when people were claiming that it was dead.

The fact is that historically Munster have had more counties who are strong in hurling, at the same time, making for a better provincial championships. The introduction of Galway and the emergence of Dublin have dramatically improved the Leinster championship this year, its really all about numbers. How can you have a good championship with only two or three teams competing for the title every year?
