there should always be a place for our history, there seems to be a distinct lack of interest in history among a lot of people, i could never understand fully why to be honest, maybe because its hard as we have quite a bit of it!! michael hogan was a hero but he was one of many, was it 14 irish people died that day?? if there was then there were 14 hereos

Thank you for your answer and understanding of my Question. The other elder statesmen that you and I would have differences with remain conspicuos by their absence from this thread now. Any person who has visited Kilmichael and read the inscriptions will understand why I ask this question. Are a persons sacrifice and deeds judged only on whether they gain their objective or not. When I was very young reading Louis Lamour and zane grey I knew that the white people were the victims of the savage indians. Now things are no longer so black and white for me and i see that the Indians were the absolute victims.

I think there was ment to be a match a few weeks back in Thurles to celebrate his life,but it was called off due to the bad weather!I could be wrong though,I presume the GAA have organised something for after the Championship
