Darragh Mc Evoy was voted player of the year with Celbridge last year and has to be one of the best man markers in county. Only conceded on score from play from all the players he marked in the entire championship including marking Smith(SARSFIELDS) Smullen(Allenwood) and Fahey (larries). Brophy also worth a look. Carew is certainly playing well but I am not sure of him making it at inter county level wheras Mc Evoy and Brophy have played for the county at every grade . square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 24/06/2009 21:55:38 322248 Link 0 |

give carew a chance.gave mcgrillen a torrid time in league match and also brophy.gave tim dowling a roasting and was unmarkable against monasterevin.hugh purcell the ageless warrior upsheflew (Kildare) - Posts: 44 - 25/06/2009 13:29:22 322782 Link 0 |
Correct joeyboy. It was Judge that mc evoy marked against Allenwood in last years championship. I think that mcevoy kept smullen scorless when Smullen played for Na Finna when Celbridge won the u21 championship. I agree that Carew gave Hugh Mc Grillan a roasting in the league. One more to consider - Thomas O' Connor (clane), he is a great fielder and showed up well for the juniors this year. square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 25/06/2009 14:17:02 322832 Link 0 |
Whatever happened to Pierre Ennis from Maynooth? Is he still a good footballer? BigSam (Kildare) - Posts: 266 - 25/06/2009 14:46:55 322879 Link 0 |

Carew has to be brought on to the panel if he has a good championship. He is a fantastic forward. lilylover (Kildare) - Posts: 16 - 25/06/2009 15:51:15 322968 Link 0 |
Lillyover that team would struggle to beat a lot of club teams in Kildare. Purcell is in his Mid thirties. Carew is not good enough for intercounty level in my opinion. Glavin and O'Connor don't have the legs in Midfield for that level. Kildare don't need Padraig Brennan anymore. Lonergan at 6? A good pacey wing back / corner back. At 6? Are you mad? Daragh McEvoy at 3? He's a man marker. (ie) put him on their best inside forward.Would you actually put any of these lads on the current team? I'd worry if McGeeney does. Carew can take frees. That's it. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 25/06/2009 16:40:08 323039 Link 0 |

All pretty strong teams. Mr. Efficient gets my vote but with 3 changes. I would have Paddy Murray at 12, Eoghan Carew at 14 and Frank Barry at 15. square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 29/06/2009 18:27:03 326849 Link 0 |
If Padraig Carthy from Celbridge was younger he'd be a cert on the panel. Great at 7 or 6. Think he's about 30 and origionally from Galway thou musha (Kildare) - Posts: 7 - 06/07/2009 22:25:20 334959 Link 0 |
