ballinasloe won 3-11 to 9 points. Gabriels put it up to them in first half but as they say goals win games.

Bsloe may have found form at the right time by the looks of things. Headford won as far as i know and will be the team to beat..

Anyone know Tuam result

Have to say I thought ballinasloe looked good.couldnt believe how small the st gabriels team is. tuam and annaghdown drew after extra time.that game will have to be replayed next week as the quarter finals are fixed for the weekend after that.

Bsloe missin 1 or 2 important players so should improve.

Gabriels looked young but if they stay at it they will improve over the next couple of years. I hope they keep up the effort for this summer in the league. Although it will be hard for any team knocked out this weekend to stay playiin with little to motivate them with nothing to play for in the league.

Good result for annaghdown.. Can they win replay or did they miss there chance

Headford scraped past a very spirited Cortoon side! They kept up with Headford til half time but an early second half goal for Headford was the turning point!Yet again Tom Lee was the star man for Headford scoring some serious points and constantly causing problems running at Cortoon!Wasnt the greatest performance by Headford though and they will need to improve alot to win it!Good defensive perfromances aswel by the very young half back line for Headford!

palestine, kilconnell have seven cappy hurlers on football panel also have players who hurl with leitrim/kilna, sarsfields and mullagh. indeed the revoking of permission for some of those players to play yesterday cost kilconnell dearly, they were well in the game until a soft goal went in and then grellans took over.
headford made short work of a game cortoon who can claim that the loss of their center foward kelly was a big turning point, headford look good for the title with their clinical display yesterday.

What players were revoked from playing for Kilconnell? They have come on a lot in recent years and yesterdays scoreline is not a true reflection of how good they are. Hopefully they can pick themselves up again and give it a lash again next year. Fair point about the goal but for long periods in the second half Ballinasloe were camped in their half, there was a strong breeze in Tuam yesterday.
Were all the first round games played, only a few results posted.

once again you have your facts wrong.Gabriels team did not have 7 hurlers from cappy but there was 6 players from the parish of aughrim and kilconnell that play with cappy along with another 2 that dont play hurling anymore.add in another 3 players from kilconnell aughrim that dont play hurling. So as I have pionted out 11 of the team are gabriels players first add in two from cappy 1 each from mullagh and letrim and you have your team.2 cappy players not 7.Also how many of the ballinasloe team are not from ballinasloe?????

What do you mean by how many bsloe players are not from bsloe.. every player that played on sunday is from bsloe within a couple of miles radius of each other so that was a weird question.

fearnua i dont intend on gettin in a slaggin match with ya as theres enuf children on this forum already but do ya mind naming the 7 cappy players as im intrigued.was at both games yday and headford and bsloe both looked good with headford looking quite a large and physical side who nobody will want to draw.

Ballinasloe are a feeder club to Killtormer in football, get a few of there youths on loan so they can gain experience.
Currently have one lad who looks like he could make it at killtormer, dont think hes from 'the' clontuskert though.

Who won the rest of the junior champship games north and west. How did tuam do, they are going okay i hear. As for headford being a big team, what team where you watchin. Backs are very small bar the full back but they are stil very good defensively. Bsloe look strong too and will be hard bet. cortoon and gabriels are poor sides though and dont show how good a team actually is. can people please post their own team results and lets get some constructive criticism going instead of talkin bull all the time, and enough about the hurlers of wherever, they had fifteen lads playing football at the end of the day!! Lookin 4ward to the next round as is every1 the way posts are flying up on this thread............
