Dell urnai is not the same parish as strabane, The urnai club is in the parish of Urnai and donneyloop, a completely different parish!
The rules state you have to be born in the parish or living in the parish at the time you play! Alot of urnai players are from strabane and should be playing for sigersons, i know of at least one player in your senior team which this applys too and he will be the first to admit it! And i know of a few from victoria bridge who are playing with urnai at youth level, they should surely be playing with newtonstewart! So go look up the rules dell

Re the accusation of Urney 'poaching'from Strabane. It's 100% true and has happened for years. Generally it happens when a native Clady man moves to the town and rears a family. He sends his children to 'his' club. To me there is an unwritten rule that allows this.
Owen Roes would also have people from Strabane playing for them too.

However Strabane also have players in their teams from Castlegrange and the new developments on the Urney Road (Castletown area). I believe this is part of the Urney parish. In addition players who play for Strabane from the Derry rd e.g. Tulacorr, Glenside, Burndennet should be featuring for Owen Roes.

If all's added up I'd say Strabane benefit more than anyone from this 'arrangement', but sure if none of the clubs in questioning are crying foul.... why should we.

You can poach all the youngsters you want, may it be true or not, but the simple matter is, without the right foundations and coaching they wont be up to much when it comes to the crunch, senior level.

clubs dont poach players - its the players themselves who want to move. If a player wants to move to another club, the club that the players wants to move to is hardly going to say no, go away, we dont want you. As for Dungannon, theres plenty of Edendork, Killyman, donaghmore and eglish players from Dungannon so its works both way

Bo, I reckon you've been sniffing too much of that cleaning stuff for the General Lee if you think that clubs don't poach players.

Jos the castlegrange development is not in the urney parish it is in the parish of strabane, their local church is melmount! Dell talks so much about a certain 17 or 18 year old in the urney senior team all the time, he should be playing with sigersons as he lives and was born on the urney road in strabane! Owen rose are most certainly guilty aswell, i remember the days when they used to send buses into the head of the town area to collect players. Its the same with Aghyaran in our area, they have always tried to poach castlederg players and thats a fact, Castlederg very rarely are beatin at underage level against Aghyaran, But from Under 14 upwards Castledergs top players have been tapped up to play for aghyaran. I can Count at least 6 that went to Aghyaran and at least 6 that were approached to go and play with Aghyaran. The rule is you must be born in the parish or living in the parish at the time you are playing with that club, it appears the bigger clubs seem to get away with it. Alot of men put hard work into teaching youngsters the basics of the game and giving them their first taste of football at underage level only too watch them then togging out against them by the time they reach u 21 or senior level!

Bo Duke is right. A large proportion of Edendork players are from Dungannon.
