Sad to see some people on this thread almost hoping for the demise of Kiltane.I am sure Kiltane will give their answer to the doubters and the knockers. They will still be a senior club next season.

Kiltane deserve their senior status for the work and commitment they have shown over the years and are a credit to mayo football as a whole.

So I was wrong, big deal. I wont lose any sleep over it. Underestimted by many, myself included but as for tipping them for relegation, I stand by my decision to do so as they had lingered in and around the relegation zone for a few years now and their form was unimpressive heading into the championship. Everyone can be wrong once in a while and it was my turn I suppose. Thats all I have to say on the subject and good luck in the last 8.

Great result by Kiltane and by all accounts should have won it. that's the heart and bottle that Mayo need, always a team to be written off but a never say day die attitude has got them to the last eight. not sure if they'll have enough to beat what's left but the best of luck to them.

Year in year out Kiltane prove all the doubters wrong.! Hopefully they can have a good go at C'town in the last 8, no matter what happens people will probably have them as favorites to get relegated again next year.! Can abyone tell me when the last time Kiltane were intermediate..??

aiden they do get plenty of respect. Everyone knows how well the club is run and how difficult an away game it is up there. However they will never be a heavyweight like cross, ballina, knockmore. The respect is more borne out of a sort of attitude that says 'that kiltane team are a plucky bunch' or 'havnt they done well considering the population' etc...ie; it is respect with an asterix.

The thing with Kiltane is incredible pride in our senior status, while our neighbours continue to struggle to make the grade we are there year in year out.! The danger is if we were to fall into intermediate the interest levels may fall which would make it very hard to get back up given an already small pick of players. We might not challange to win the senior championship but at least we are there competing.!!

aidan i mean when was the last time they won a championship game away from home,it takes a week for most clubs to get to bangor, take alook at this year, moydavitts bet them fairly easy and they are poor, it is not hard to get to the 1/4 final... poorclub that always play poor football, hanging around relagation every year..
