I think that Sarsfields have far and away the best facilities in the county. Every time we go to play our local derby with them there i have to admire all the excellent work they have done with the clubhouse and the pitches. My own clubs facilities are good, but not up to the standards set by Sarsfields. S.Mcloughlin (Kildare) - Posts: 5 - 23/07/2009 15:28:55 358647 Link 0 |
I think the new setup in Ballykelly is going to blow a lot of people away when it opens in about 2 months. left back (None) - Posts: 83 - 24/07/2009 12:47:26 360053 Link 0 |

Athy has to be one of the best pitches ever (anywhere) a very through bounce compared to St Conleth which was like playing on a summer bog only more very lifeless. AreWeHuman (Kildare) - Posts: 242 - 01/09/2009 20:11:44 412251 Link 0 |
arewehuman are you joking, athy is terrible sexyface (Kildare) - Posts: 175 - 01/09/2009 21:08:40 412307 Link 0 |
Athy has the worst field in the county.. boggerman (Kildare) - Posts: 45 - 01/09/2009 22:03:45 412424 Link 0 |
He must be, Athy would be ranked as one of the worst in my books along with maynooth, when the weathers dry you'd be better off playing on Tarmac than there. Naas pitch in my view is the best, nice facilities and set up. Celbridge isn't too bad either. clanefeen (Kildare) - Posts: 69 - 01/09/2009 22:08:33 412430 Link 0 |
Hey Sexy Bogger Clane are you talking bout looking at it or playing on it although I do admit its as a summer pitch I am referring to AreWeHuman (Kildare) - Posts: 242 - 01/09/2009 23:15:24 412518 Link 0 |
im from athy and think our pitch isnt anywhere near the best in the county johnnylips (Kildare) - Posts: 214 - 02/09/2009 16:48:59 413314 Link 0 |
Clanefeen id say most pitchs in the county are like playing on tarmac during a spell of good weather maybe with the exception of Naas, its not like the pitchs are equipped with sprinklers athiabu (Kildare) - Posts: 157 - 02/09/2009 17:27:30 413395 Link 0 |
Athy is way too hard on a dry day, you'll reck urself on that pitch. sexyface (Kildare) - Posts: 175 - 02/09/2009 18:46:42 413501 Link 0 |
Have to disagree, Clanes main pitch has never been like that, nor celbridge or leixlip. Sarsfields is another nice pitch to play on, best set ups at the moment thought are clane and naas clanefeen (Kildare) - Posts: 69 - 02/09/2009 22:33:42 413823 Link 0 |
castlemitchell has to be the best pitch in kildare, perfect in rain or sun.celbridge would be a close second... tombock (Kildare) - Posts: 27 - 03/09/2009 11:25:37 414139 Link 0 |
naas is the nicest lads.. flat, sanded and a good clubhouse! clanes pitch is good but the clubhouse is fairly standard compared to others gaa_5 (Kildare) - Posts: 18 - 03/09/2009 21:33:59 414870 Link 0 |
Mcloughlin you are right about Sarsfields but I get it hard to believe a Moorefield man would would look in awe at anything from sarsfields Willie Nelson (None) - Posts: 972 - 04/09/2009 10:11:35 415194 Link 0 |
Naas is a fine complex but from a players point of view the pitch is horrendus. Leixlips pitch is one of the best. Rathcoffey has a fine set up aswell. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 04/09/2009 11:40:12 415300 Link 0 |
Naas is without doubt the best..pitches are brilliant and possibly the finest clubhouse and facilities in the country..leixlip pitch is fantastic also mcgrath90 (Kildare) - Posts: 60 - 04/09/2009 14:09:29 415500 Link 0 |
