Best club grounds in Kildare?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We've been through the worst now what are the best? Leixlip have a smashing set up while Celbridge and Kilcock have done great work with theirs. Sarsfields is always nice to visit while Clane too was a job well done. Am I forgeting anyone?

I'd have to go with Naas and the Leixlip. Athy's pitch is a shocker.

Athys pitch does onli b in a bad state because so many 'good' matches are played there.
Cardburys pitch is a superb pitch and brilliant facilities.
Naas, Cl;ane and Leixlip also are worth a mention

Kilcock, Clane and Naas.... any of those.

Would agree with the comment made on Eire Og.. they are doing a great job in Donore.

Last time I played in Athy... in one word.. awful. Maynooth is nothing to write home about either.

Leixlip is the best all round club ground, best pitch surface, best facilities for players and best set up around the pitch.

Naas and Balyna are close behind.

New Moorefiled pitch is worth a mention also

Maynooth is a disgrace

celbridges main pitch is quality when its kept in good nick....athy's suffer with there being no other pitch for training. sash and moores arent bad but always liked the larries one.

Leixlip for me, great facilities and an excellent pitch with a stand for comfort...not too many grounds can claim that. Only problem with Leixlip, is the lack of parking. Clane not too far behind.
Naas, on a summer's day, is another smashing surface and had they built a stand when pumped millions into that new clubhouse and facilities, it would be one of the designated county grounds. Sarsfields deserves similar mention as does Moorefield if they dropped a bit of tarmac on the drive.
Celbridge is in the same boat, but the way they are thinking they'll have everything but the Hogan, Cusack, Davin and Hill 16 stands (in name) there in the coming years!
Worst pitches are St. Kevin's and Maynooth...I thought pitches were supposed to be level? No protection from the elements either!

Naas for me Sarsfields as well although their second pitch is brutal also when Ballykelly open their new clubgrounds i dont believe there will be better pitches in the county if you check out the website you can get a taste of what they're like. Great work being done down there

Bono10 you mentioned the lack of parking in Leixlip. Tis a pain on league days alright but they do open up the three adjoining school car parks on championship days which goes along way to help the situation. Stewards are also on duty on those days.
