this might sound crazy but if greencastle really want to be sure of playing in division 1 next year then they should let cookstown win the championship. it is highly unlikely cookstown would be beat by either eskra or gortin in the final whereas greencastle could easily be beaten by either team especially gortin. thus cookstown winning the double would ensure an historic stint in senior football for the 1st time for greencastle - think about it lads.

Jeezs, I need to brush up on my maths.... lol

I hear what you are saying and a lot of it makes sense, but I'm sure other people in Greencastle will agree with me when I say we'd rather be the masters of our own destiny than to rely on anyone else. Image we did get past Cookstown, the confident that would bring us. We could even get a chance to revenge Gortin for the league ;)

We all know that any team can get bet on there day in a county final. Just look at Moortown v Killyman 2007. A Moortwn team which sat at top of league for 3/4 of the season. Also Broagh v NTS 2009.
Best off trying to keep your fait in your own hands rather than trusting someone else to do the business for you.
Also i feel that either Greencastle or Cookstown will win the Championship as both are to strong for eskra who I feel will probabily win the other semi.
On the other hand a Greencastle v Gortin final would be a mouth watering contest if it came about.

Anything can happen on final day,
and for semi final day too.
Greencastle will be all out to win the semi, no doubt.
Hopefully Collie and a few other niggles will clear up un time.
Bit sore on Warnock here, he did set up the goal
and got to as much ball as John even though Conway had bulk of the scores.
We are as reliant on Conway as Cookstown are on Mulligan.
Taking our defensive record into account Cookstown will not get half their scores in the Derrylaughan game.
Building up to a big game alright.

Watching, Nobody is being sore on Sean Warnock here, I said in my opinion he is a better midfielder/defender, another poster may have agreed. He did do well for the goal as I pointed out but the general feeling was that he didn't really get going until moved out round the middle in a more natural position for him after Conway went off. Great prospect and asset to have on any team all the same. Can Derrylaughan upset the final league positions. Will Cookstown have one eye on the championship? We live in hope.

From what i am led to beleive your living in hope will be short lived as a little birdie has told me that derrylaughan are not going to try a leg against cookstown to ensure that they do not hand the legue to greencastle due to an unsavoury incident in a local nightclub a while back anyone from castle shed any light on this incident ?and also due to not bothered about promotion so they are more likely to side with Mr lawn their loughshore neighbour by the way hows your keeper hear he sustained an unfortunate injury in the last match.

My sources are Collie will be ok, a bit bruised, but good for Cookstown.

I agree, whilst Warnock had a good game on Saturday, he is more suited out the field.

your right watching, ancaisleanglas1's maths is a bit dodgy....

but why would u want to 'jinx' us??

surely, if doirelochain beat cookstown this wkend and greencastle win (likely a handy win 2 v killyman) then both green castle and cookstown will be on equal points, 25 each.

wont they then have also to play-off to see who wins the league outright? it gives u's still a chance in both league and cship? correct me if im wrong??

then the looser will again playoff with teams below in league them to see who meets the team comin down from div 1 playoff!??

prediction - cooktown for league, despite loosing to doirelochain this wkend!lol

cookstown to beat greencastle then gortin in cship final

doirelochain to up in playoffs

greencastle to play another yr in div2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taken on board Mugsy.
Think a weak full back line for Moortown
was exposed all the same with Warwock at 14.
Whether or not he is there for the Cookstown game, time will tell.
He seems to be more comfortable in the middle alright,
but doubt if Conway or Clarke will be moved to suit.
Thought Conway in the middle was very good.
Can`t see any changes in the defence either.
Will be interesting.

If your predictions for the league and Cship come to fruition then Greencastle will gain automatic promotion(can't be caught by Derrylaughan) as they will go up in 2nd place behind the cship winners- i.e Cookstown as you say. LOL myself.

Not jinxing yous lad, Cookstown,
we do need yous to win in order for us to get a playoff with Cookstown for league title.

If Cookstown win both titles, Greencastle gets promotion automatically.
They do not enter the playoffs.
Two teams have to go up automatically.
Then next four enter playoffs.

All this will not matter if neither Greencastle or Cookstown doesn`t win Championship.
A distinct possibility.

Agree on the point about warnock fantastic potential but like another poster said he did assist the goal but he is best served in defence or midfield for the benefit of the team

as for this weekends game with derrylaughan and cookstown i am bemused with some of the posts i don't think derrylaughan will beat cookstown would doubt they will hand anything to cookstown easy but how up for their game remains to be seen

littleoak you must try to cause as much stirring as possible against derrylaughan and i have wondered why buyt from talking to a clonoe man on this i can see why now it serve you better if you stay out of tyrone club business as i hear u like to think of urself as a clonoe man and can assure you your not one of them men as your posts are easy to spot and identify best served trying your underage teams around bellaghy

good point 'watching' and 'mick oconnell' !!lol

....have to admit its lookin good for greencastle nearly each an every way!

agree with most of your predictions 'dellboy' but goin make a call on all

moortown v killeshil is hardest to call as both need wins,

draw looks possible to keep intermediate status for both strabane and augher, harps needin points to get outa relegation playoff

gortin looking promotion playoff, derrylaughan to curb mugsy this time, Eskra current cship form to beat rock....

Strabane v Augher - Augher
Killyman v Greencastle - Greencastle
Cookstown v Derryaughan - derrylaughan
Moortown v killeshil - moortown
Pomeroy v Gortin - gortin
Eskra v Rock - eskra
Stewartstown v Edendork - Stewartstown
Urney v Clan na gael - urney
