Moortown could be a good bet for to go well in the championship as they have a strong tradition of being able to up their perfromance when the chips are down. Its when they get to the final they get the wobbles...... But probably on average due to win one after their disaster a couple of years ago.

Has anyone else seen that it has been posted on Tyrone GAA that Eskra and Killyman drew? Eskra were 5 points up with only a few minutes to go! I do not know if this is official but if it is this is an absolute disgrace, so teams can just make the referee abandon the game near the end if they are losing and they will get a point?

well mugsy, i did say a 4/5 point win for greencastle and i proved to be correct!! no one likes to be beaten but i did leave last night quietly content enough from what i seen from both teams. i feel that moortown played really well and given that we started the game with our first choice midfield and centre forward missing, coupled with early injuries to two of our players, i believe that moortown have more than enough to beat greencastle at full throttle. i knew that anyway, but i was impressed with our performance as we were down to the bare bones. our keeper is disastrous and contributed to a number of greencastle scores.
not taking anything from greencastle though, good team and looks as though they may head to top flight via league route as i feel moortown will win the next encounter.

Just saw that on the Tyrone website as well Tyrone lad. It doesn't seem right that it should be put down as a draw.

Clann na Gael 1-7 Cookstown 1-7
Derrylaughan 2-9 Strabane 1-6

Will Cookstown regret dropping a point at this stage of the league? Still enough games left but surely advantage to Greencastle now.

Have to laugh at 'moortownspuds'. How can you call our keeper disasterous, he has won us games this year with a string of great saves. Are you forgetting the Edendork championship game last week, were he pulled of two fine saves at critical moments in the game, not to mention his kickouts were impecable on Friday night against greencastle. Wise up kid. Also yes, Moortown were missing a few players, but big deal, by the time championship comes around, we could have players missing again for a variety of reasons, as could greencastle, teams just have to get on with it. The league is now Greencastles to lose, given this weekends results, but they will know that should they make any mistakes, Moortown, Cookstown & Gortin will be on their heals ready to pounce. On Fridays nights game, Greencastle by far best team Moortown have played this year, thought it was a great game played by two very young sides. The goal proved to be the difference. Eh, Moortownspuds, I laugh because from reading alot of your comments, I am now pretty sure who you are. Again, wise up kid.

bopeep, the admin. didnt post my last comment in response to you, so ill be polite this time. first and foremost, our keeper has'nt been doing well, regardless of what you think or believe, i believe that a moortown team full out will beat a greencastle team also full out. oh and i doubt very much that you know who i am. mugsy, was a good game and went how i predicted it to be - losing by 4 points. game played in good spirits with lots of attacking. i didnt bother with the turf as its quite warm on the shores of the lough at the minute but mabe another time. will be a good championship game thats for sure

I wouldnt blame the goalkeeper for the defeat to greencastle last year as they were beat all over the field in every department in the final.

yes mugsy they were well beaten in the final last yr against greencastle u21's, but i think hokey is talking about a previous yr. but as for last week, on two occassions his howlers caused 2 45's which resulted in points and he should have cleared everyone in sight for that scrappy goal instead of being unsure what to do. mugsy, this isnt excuses for losing by the way, suppose its just that im annoyed at other club members of my own denying plain simple facts, maybe they are friends of the keepers or something but nothing can excuse his displays at times.
bottom line is, i witnessed the two best teams in div 2 playing each other in what was an excellent game and im really lookin forward to the championship.

Sorry never got back to you DBPC, was away on Saturday for a few days, only back.
As has been said, it was a great game between Greencastle and Moortown.
Both teams weakened from what might be there full strength line outs,
i say MIGHT.
Bring on the championship.
