Celbridge............ Wouldn rule out Coill Dubh regardless of them gettin on in age. Don't rule out Clane could causing a shock or two.

i would be extremely surprised to see clane pull off anything of a surprise this year, its going to be a confey celbridge ardclough affair, very close

Same teams as usual...Celbridge, Ardclough, Confey and Coill Dubh in that order.

Heard a few Confey boys goin away though so Celbridge could win it...hard to believe it's 4 years since they won it!!

it amuses me that you would have ardclough and celbridge ahead of confey. makes no sense. if celbridge can get over their semi final blues they might have a chance. but when championship comes around i'd have confey and ardclough top two. also championship only gets going in september and oct not the summer

Fair point that championship only gets goin in Sept and Oct but if Confey have lads away they won't be rite for championship...they won't be doin much trainin if they're away on holidays!!

confey have to be fav for the championship sure there going for three in a row. id have celbridge to chalenge them with ardclogh and coill dubh to follow. it would be great to see a confey v celbridge final both good hurling teams. saying that coill dubh are ALWAYS within a chance of winning it.

Athy had a great win over ros glas weekend playing sum beautiful hurling in terrible conditions...They dominated the 1st half and finished the game strong only holding back a little bit at the start of the 2nd half but very impressed overall at the quality of hurling which drew a large crowd to athy.I was suprised although that athy didn spring on supersub eddie lawler from the bench to push on their lead even more as his pace wud hav proven a serious difficulty for the ros glas defence

Don't know about Coill Dubh given the team is getting on now and has a collective age of around a thousand (slight exageration here I'll give you that). My money would be on Celbridge despite them losing to Ardclough last week.

What's happened to Confey though? Three losses out of three?? With lads going away in the summer it doesn't look good for them at all?

Wouldn't worry too much bout Confey yet...they lost to two of the better teams in Celbridge and Ardclough and local derbies always gonna be tight. They'll be there or there abouts again. Celbridge have new manager though and I think fresh approach will lead to them winnin it...

Think Clane will be the team this year. Had backbone of County team and good league results in first couple of rounds. Ardclough will be there or ther abouts. Confey seem to be struggling but can't write off County Champions of past 2 years. Maybe Coill Dubh if they concentrate on hurling and not needling everyone else. Don't see Celbridge as contenders....too many soft players on team who won't stand up to men

What do you mean Coill Dubh dont concentrate on hurling? There the purest hurling club in the county.
Fancy Celbridge for the championship. As long as they stand up against their opposition they should win it.

lilylover I take it you haven't seen them in a while so. They might be a hurling club but they certainly don't concentrate on hurling. One of the greatest niggling teams I've ever seen.

I agree with lilylover.....Just because Coill Dubh are tougher than most teams doesnt mean they dont concentrate on hurling.... The fact is they will be there or there abouts come end of the championship

Lads, can anyone tell me.. whats the underage set-up in Coill Dubh like cos their senior team is as old as the bog out that way. I think I might have played them once when growing up...has there being an improvement? I kno Johnny Byrne is a handy hurler and I think this yrs u-21 (shocking team by the way) full back was a Coill Dubh man.. anyone else of note?

Think we're only two weeks out from the start of the championship and looking at the draw tis difficult to predict whose in the winners group.

Clane V Leixlip

This one is dead tight with both going well in the league. I'd say a draw but if there has to be a winner I'll say Clane because of the lads they had on the county panel.

Confey V Ardclough

Ardclough here as Confey have been nothing short of a disaster this year.

Coill Dubh V Eire Og/C. Choill

Close as hell but Coill Dubh to shade it.

Naas V Celbridge

If Naas keep this under 20 points it'll be an achievement.

being dirty doesnt make you tough mate. I agree with that comment about clane, could be the big surprise this year. What date are those fixtures due to be played?

Those games are to be played on the weekend of the 26th. Not sure what days they're on though.

Clane V Leixlip

Lads on the county panel don't win ya championships. However I do think Clane will prevail. Leixlip have very light forwards and I think they'll be bullied off the ball.

Confey V Ardclough

With Lynch gone I think Confey will find it difficult this year. Ardclough for me.

Coill Dubh V Eire Og/C. Choill

Always close. Not one for the feint hearted but I'd say Coill Dubh.

Naas V Celbridge

Naas have been well and truly awful last 2 games so Celbridge will hammer them...
