Ridiculous. The province main ground should be geographically in the centre (ie clones). Just shows that its always the bigwigs in the city that hold the power

The centre? Are Galway and Dublin in Ulster now?

i prefer clones to casement.i just think there is a better atmosphere both inside and outside the ground at clones.

How many posters on this thread have been to an Ulster final at Casement? The last final played there was the great 1971 Down V Derry game.

If you have not experienced an Ulster final at Casement, how can you make the comparison to Clones?

I have attended quarter finals at both venues and neither come close to Ulster final day.

Your statement is a bit like saying you were at a Dublin club game at Croke, and there is no atmosphere, so why play the all Ireland finals there.

I don't have a problem with Casement but I feel that Clones just explodes into live on Ulster Final day I drove through it last Sunday night was like a ghost town ,plus my first love came from Clones (:o(

LagheyLad I have to say if we were going for the geographical centre of Ulster would it not be Omagh. Clones is hardly easy to get to for the people in Antrim od Derry and even down. I dont believe it should be in the geographical centre it should be in an area with a large number of Gaels. West Belfast fits the bill for me. Its even a Gaeltacht area now.

Belast is the most accessable area in Ulster. You have the 2 major moterways running into belfast you also have the central train station the central bus station and of course you can gain access to it by sea and Air how much more do you need.

Healy Park has been redone in the last few years as well as Brewester Park in Enniskillen.

To be honest it really is time that the Ulster council spent some money on casement park. I very much doubt you could find a better playing surface in Ulster

Aye, but only for about 40 years. And only contains three clubs who WON all Ireland titles. A bit of a GAA desert I think.
