some great sense talked here. it's great to be on a forum that's not dominayed by kids slagging off each other like they are on the cavan forum.
my opinion is that trap never believed that ireland could win the group so he concentrated on percentage football. he does not want to lose games. i believe we talked up montenegro too much. everyone seemed happy with a scoreless draw. Mont were not a good team and were there for the taking. bulgaria deserved a point at least from the recent game. we were as poor as i ever remember. we got the luck against georgia at home with the pen. we also got the luck against italy but at least we pressed forward. that game cried out for andyy reid for the last 20 mins. Also kevin Foley would have been a much better attacking full back than Mcshame. Every manager seems to fancy players that no one else rates. and with Trap its McShame. I think Andrews and Whelan are ok actually but we need a bit of guile too. Our squad is looking very thin and it is a big mistake to exclude anyone from it. we don't have the numbers.
