Division 2

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Was at the rock rd yesterday for the rats game with Na piar, rats got stuck in to an out of sorts na piar. in fairness the home team where shocking bad have seen them a few times this year and don't think they are up to it. division 2 is so competitive this year and I think they have lost their edge and bottle. Look ok in defence but lacked so much up front. Looked like they didn't even know each other. Seems like every one who has been talking about was right not going to count this year and will get a lesson next week end

Barrs won by 3 points. McDermotts had 3 sent off with straight reds. Speaking to one of the supporters on the way out, apparantly they have a lot of injuries and now a lot of suspensions. The amount of moaning they do reminds me of Arsenal!

Bars played well but it was nip an tuck for a long time. This game was crucial for staying up so i think seans are going down and will struggle in the opening rounds f championship.

finbarss will struggle to get man more points

Yellow Pejguin - I think it is very early to predict who will be going down or who will win league for that matter. Clans have'nt covered themselves in glory so far. Oconnels look good but there is a long league ahead and I believe that the differential between teams in this league is much less than in previous years. McDermots have a habit of surving when least expected and Barrs are a decent side. I believe that it will only be after 6/7 games that it will be possible to make predictions. Look at the result of the Gers and dreadnots game, even though dreadnots had held O'connels to a draw the previous week, also O rahilly beat the gers and na piarsaigh after taking an unmerciful hiding from oconnells on first outing. There is a lot of football to be played in this league yet. Real interest is of course the championship. any predictions for next week end?

seans captain was sent off for shouldering the ref but wasnt much in it- hope he doesnt get too harshly treated! the other 2 reds were dirty acts of violence- should be worse! barrs were excellent in the 1st half and 16 points is good scoring, even without william woods. could give a few teams a game in the div and should be safe i think

If the finbars were so good, how come they only won by 3 points against 12 men?

Seans had full back sent off very near the end in all fairness! They had only got close to finbarrs, pulling it back to a draw wen der 2nd player was red carded. They are gonna be seriously stuck for the first few rounds of the champo...
Finbarrs at home are a hard team to beat. Wudnt suprise me if they fininshed the year above the bottom 3 or 4 in league.

its so early to be predicting final placeing, only 3 games played and in some cases even less.Altough the Seans seem to be in trouble having lost to two of the so called "weaker" clubs the gers and the Finbarrs and losing three players to suspension.,did the McDermotts player mean to shoulder the ref?

heard from a seans player that the three deserved it. no excuses apparently. they'l struggle but wouldn't right them off

the finnbarrs and roche played a back fixture on sunday and it ended up a draw match.

finnbarrs 2-07 1-10 roche i think was the score.

good result for the finnbarrs and the point puts roche joint top.

O'Connells have Div 2 sown up, they are absolutely flying this year, unbeaten in league and championship. have to be odds on for the double.

Whats the story with Na Pairsaigh this year, I see they were well beaten by Gers at the weekend!

Mochtas sitting in 2nd place in the table with two games to go, a promotion/relegation play off between themselves and the Brides would be interesting!

Dreadnots are second on 12.Mochtas are 3rd on 11 but if Plunketts win their game in hand they will be 3rd level with Dreadnots.
Plunketts are goin well in league and brutal in championship.

I think the Plunketts are in contention for second place and the play off spot in this league, if two teams only finish level on points its decided on the head to head and not score diff. Keep an eye on them and the Clans.
