Best Donegal player of all time?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I didn't mean to say that McHugh was the best player. I think he's up there, but like you say, how do you compare Hudie Beag Gallagher with Brian McEniff with Tony Boyle. That team of the Millenium was drawn up by players and supporters of Donegal who had been going to games for 50 years. It just gives a flavour of maybe some players we're forgetting.
For me, it's a tie between Martin McHugh and Barry McGowan.

I think Roper is and will go down as one of the best to pull on the jersey. Honestly i do.

At the minute though to whittle it down to 3, McEniff, McHugh,McGowan

Hard to look past wee McHugh but we have produced some very good footballers in different eras.

Well we forget about the goalies always and Seamus Hoare has to be one of the tops with his record number of railway cup appearances and named Keeper of the millinium Team.

Gaadefender has a lot of time on his hands.
you dont see posts like this on Antrim, clare, Carlow`s site as they know that their football and players are 2 levels lower that the ones at the top level. We are classed with the Antrims, clares, carlows now

Jeez lads, are half the posters here related to Brian Roper or something!? Don't get me wrong, he was a great servant to the county and had the heart of a lion but let's not lose the run of ourselves
