How matches go over the weekend. Heard that Drumlish accounted for Mostrim in a poor affair. Granard let a big lead slip against Mullinalaghta and Abbey accounted easily for Rathcline. How the other matches go? Stand out players?

Wins for Abbeylara and drumlish again to leave them with 6 from 6. Mullinaghta and Granard draw. Ballymahon, Dromard and Clonguis also record wins. What game were you at. teams and scorers if possible, thanks...

As i predicted performance on saturday not good enough and while we are not definitely relagated at this point it will take a freak series of results to keep us up including beating high flying Tipp in Thurles.Mind you that is possible. Still football is played in Div 4 and with less pressure next year will allow more players to be added to the team. If we fail to beat Wiclow in round 1 (unlikely that we lose that game?) and get a tough qualifier draw away from Pearse Park then this year will turn out to be a disaster. Lets hope we can get a decent summer run together. Locally games went as expected last weekend with the exception of Mostrim losing to FMG and Slashers pushing a strong Clonguish side closer than anticipated. Killoe v Colmcille game off as the county champions away on holidays.Fair play to them well deserved but obviously no recession worries around Aughnacliffe!! They also picked up Team of Year award at Longford association dinner last weekend. Can they push on and retain championship in '09? I still believe the winner will come from Clonguish,Dromard or Abbey. Clonguish/Dromard meet on sunday will it be at Allen Pk? Any reports on last weeks games..who played well any injuries any sendings off?

Da Windies are flying high at the top of division 1,a serious improvement from this time last year!!Mullinaghta still goin strong, not as bad a team as people think.they have alot of good young players and might suprise a few more teams this year..slashers defence gave away 2penaltys the other day against clonguish with paul barden putting away the 2 of them,if they had a bit more disipline they would have won the game..Paul Barden kicked points to bate the band, too bad he couldnt put in a performance like that the day before!!

Hate to brag but you will see I got all predictions correct regarding the weekend club games including the draw between Granard and St. Columba's!

As for this weekend here goes:
Fr Manning Gaels v St Marys...The gaels should keep their 100% record intact but will be hard pressed, 3 point win.
Emmet Og v Abbeylara...Abbey to scrape it.
Rathcline v Ballymahon...South Longford battle to end in a draw.
Longford Slashers v Mostrim...Slashers to have to much for Mostrim team rooted at foot of table.
St Columbas v Colmcille...Colmcille to edge past Columbas...just.
Dromard v Clonguish...Senior champ final 2009???.....Dromard by a point.
St Patricks v Sean Connollys...Ardagh, expect a couple red cards!

Fair play Monda credit where it is due mate. Think i can pip you with this weekends predictions however.

FMG V St Mary's.....Home win by 5.
Emmet Og v Abbeylara....Extra game last weekend will help Abbey. Away win by 4.
Rathcline v Ballymahon....Another away win by 3.
Slashers v Mostrim...Will Mostrim finally start to realise some potential? Slashers very poor last sunday. Going for a draw here.
St Columbas v Colmcille...County champions just back from a "sun training camp" but still have too much for Mullinalaghta. Away by 4.
Dromard v Clonguish...Another away win by 4.
St Patrick's v Sean Connolly's...Two of the weaker participants.Home win by 3.

Have to agree with mondo for the matches at the weekend. Hard to see the games goin any other way.Not sure about the red cards in the ardagh conollys match though.Although with a connollys man in charge of ardagh I cud be proved wrong. Also its Ardaghs first game on their new pitch and definatly an occasion where they will not want to lose.

Killoe v Abbey Draw, a draw has to come from somewhere, otherwise an Abbey win

Good win for Clonguish fancied Dromard for that one, good wins for Ballymahon and St Columba's too, league table seems to be taking shape with the usual suspects propping up it.Abbey seem to be ahead of most teams for this time of year, seemed to have a bit to spare over Killoe too.

Mullinalaghta still going strong with another great win over county champions Colmcille. Goes to show that their first win over Clonguish was no flash in the pan and they will cause Dromard and particularly Colmcille great problems in the championship with 2 teams coming out of the group. Very disappointed by colmcille so far, admittedly they have been missing their main man declan reilly for a few matches but I've seen them a couple of times and they look poor all over, especially up front where seems to be no real threat, with donie Mckeon gone for the year as far as i know. Dont exect them to challenge for championship this year. Heard Clonguish were impressive in seeing off dromard and slashers finished strongly to beat Mostrim, paul kelly apparently playing exceptional stuff at full forward. Is he round for the summer or is he travelling as some sources have told me? Without him slahsers will win no championship!

In fairness to Colmcille they haven't had anything near a full team so far.
As well as Donie McKeon being away, Brian Brady and Ollie McGivney are longterm injuries and may not play this year.
Padraig Murtagh and Kevin Farrell are injured, Declan Reilly has played 15 minutes in the league so far as has Enda Farrell who only came on for last 15 minutes yesterday.
Thing I would agree with is unless things change in a hurry they won't be close to winning a championship this year.

Weekend results as expected with leagues starting to become very predictable. Still i am pleased that my predictions virtually 100% correct!!
Was out of country at weekend (following the beautiful game across the water) so would appreciate an update from various games on performances, line outs, injuries, red cards etc.
Did county players play for their clubs?
Abbey and Clonguish look the stand out teams so far with Clonguish' 3.11 score away to Dromard eye catching.

Mullinalaghta with a huge win at the weekend minus jj matthews. colmcille and dromard definatly wont have it there on way in the championship.
