Greatest GAA day of your life

Lads the floor is yours. Could be anything from winning the u6 Division D final to winning the Senior All-Ireland with Tyrone. Ah, probably ruined this thread now mentioning that counties name again.

The best day of my life came three weeks ago with the birth of my lovely baby girl so the football went out the window then . There is more to life than football even bickering about it ..

Has to be the semi in 06 when we beat dublin. About 10 of us watched it on hols(1st c/ship game i missed in years) and we were making so much noise that everyone watching the huge local soccer derby ended up cheering us on even though they hadn't a clue about the gaa. Free beer all around after the game. What a comeback, legendary stuff. I don't know what it feels like to win an AI but that had to be damn close!

Limerick beating Waterford in August 2007 by 5-11 to 2-15.

We have won NHL titles & Munster finals in my lifetime, but given that we beat an excellent side in Croke Park scoring 5 goals in the process, it was pure ecstacy. Just a shame we didn't win the final :-(

Where abouts were you watching it then, funny no matter where you are on hols you can always find somewhere to watch a game?

Not much to talk about silverware wise apart from a few league titles but beating Kildare in Leinster Q-Final in 1991 in Drogheda has to be my favourite. It was Micko's first year in charge with them and they were beaten in the league final that year. They came to Drogheda thinking they only had to turn up as Micko was in charge and we were only Louth!!

Miserable first half and a boiling hot day. Things livened up in the second and near the end we were 1 point up and Kildare got a goal with 5 minuets left. Then after a brilliant move through the Kildare defence Cathal O' Hanlon passed to Stefan White and Stefan did as he did best and buried it in the back of the Kildare net!!! Great match, great win and great goal.

That was the greatest Louth team in my memory. Let's forget the fact that we blew it that year in that notorious semi replay against Laois but it was a hell of a team. We came close again the next year in 1992 but this time against the Dubs when Stefan scored one of the greatest goals ever scored in Croker.

Playing for QUB against UCC in the Fitzgibbon Cup in 1975, and losing by a point to a last minute goal.

Oh to have been able to boost "I played the day we beat UCC". Thirty four years later I still constantly wonder if I could have got a hand to that last goal.

Although it was heart break on the day, the memory still fills me with pride. Two years earlier, when we probably had a better team, Cork put 12 goals past us.

That day proved what a bit of belief, confidence and organisation could achieve.

Mine personally was Dublin v Tyrone 95 but its so long ago now its most certainly only a memory.

I really enjoyed wexfords comeback about 4 years ago.

And the day Ireland beat England 2 years ago and we better see the same again on Saturday. If ya say to me thats not a GAA moment fine but were was it played??? That makes it GAA enough for me
