The worst stadiums in Ireland

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Dr Cullen Park:only seats i'd reckon 5,000,and if your in the rain your in trouble cause the rest is terraced,no pubs or clubs even close to it Nowlan Park:has'nt changed since the 60's,excellent situation in the middle of the city Parnell Park:Dubs have millions, why not do something with it Conleths Park (Newbridge):couldnt be situated in a better place (right on the main street of Newbridge) but another 60's stadium Portlaoise:gorgeous stadium, excellent seating, pity the town only has a supermacs and a gaol Wexford Park:possibly the best pitch with DE crappiest stadium Thurles:nightmare to get in and out,the second best stadium in Ireland Any suggestions on the stadiums around the country ?,i'm being brutally honest with the one's i've been to

Your review of Portlaoise, you siad it has a "gaol", i would be guessing that you meant Jail.
Possibly the worst attempt of spelling a word I have ever seen!

Munster has some good stadiums.
Limerick; Top class new stadium.
Kerry Fitzgerald stadium Tralee; Top class new stadium.
Cork pairc ui caoimh; older stadium, excellent design to promote atmosphere.
Thurles older stadium; excellent atmospere ie, munster final day.
Clare cusack park; older stadium falling into state of disrepair, good atmosphere though, bloody county council have refused permission to develope new stadium outside Ennis.
Never been to Waterfords Dungarvin.

Athletic Grounds Armagh. Apparently it may not be safe.

Mind you, from the original post, this could be applied to a lot of grounds.

GAA fans are treated like second class citizens.

I'm banging my head against the monitor here! ClareFootball - it is spelt GAOL, check it out.

And Fitzgerald Stadium is in Killarney, and isn't new. Although they are doing some small work (dressing rooms) on it at the moment. It only has one stand.

Controversial as this may be!
Gaelic Grounds in Limerick
Thge Mackey Stand is THE worst stand in the country, its brutal. Dont matter how hot it ism bring your coat!
The terracing is a fine job, no complaints
But the stand....only thing wose than standing in the rain.........sitting in the rain
What genius designed that!! and we wonder........

Clones! Great for atmosphere but facilities are appalling. Parking wouldn't be the best either, but then I suppose where is it good? Its about time the Ulster Council got their act together and worked Clones into a bit of shape. Look at Salthill, Limerick, Cork etc, super provincial grounds

Hahaha, and you should have checked the rest of your own post for grammar issues as well!!! You might as well just get a new username because you will never be let live this one down.

tuam is the with worst rat infested toilets, dressing rooms that a u-10 panel would be like sardines in, a old hay shed as a stand security is also a issue, playing surface isn't bad infairness but something has to be done with facilties

Pairc Tailtean, Navan ain't hectic either. Stand is awful, also plenty of poor uncovered seating. No issues with the Terrace opposite stand in fairness.

Drogheda is the worst. The old stand in Carrick in Shannon wasn't the best either but the new one looks good.

Apologise "Duffy89" I deserve an **** kicking on that one! I never realised that those two words have the same meaning, I guess you learn something new every day. I would never use the word Gaol, I would just say prison. I copied this off Wikipedia, give me some credit you can see how a person might get them mixed up. " it seems that the two words have an identical meaning: 1) prison 2) confinement in a prison (while 'to jail' means moreover "to put in prison"). They come from latin "cavea" (from which also comes "cage"), but in different ways: 'gaol' (originally pronunced with hard 'g') by the Anglo-Norman French 'gaole', 'jail' by the Old French 'jaiole'. Probably American English has mantained the only 'jail' as its pronunciation is far nearer to the written form of the word!! Apologise again "Duffy89"

the post said worst stadiums in Ireland , so I will include Windsor park in this post H&S be saying this for 2years or more are you listening Mr Campbell? the only reason the MAZE national stadium was shelved was because the GAA would have a equal share in it and that really irritates the Minister.
