"GAA is amateur, remember! It doesn't have competitors!!

Tyr08...The GAA is not an Amateur organisation. Theres plenty of people making a very good living from Gaelic Games.

Slayer just so you know the "message board" is my life comment. That was not me. That was back in the day when anyone could log on as anyone else and post comments as imposters. Anyone who was here back then can back me on that one. Certain posters used to log on using my handle constantly to try and sully my name. In the end everyone copped on and saw through the fake Liam's. Again if you don't believe me, ask. Real Louth Fan, not once have I logged on as anyone else, ever. Any of the "Liam & Co" that you refer to making points agreeing with my original post are 100% completely of their own making and nothing whatsoever to do with me. If you don't believe me, quite frankly, when it comes to you, I don't give a damn! And if you bother to look through the threads RLF you will see LOADS of posters used the term "foreign sports" loads of them. Especially the ones agreeing with you! When it comes to my use of the words, again, I ask you, do you know what incerted commas represent? Probably not! Go look again. Judging by the length of your posts by the way you have some cheek saying someone else is on a "rant"! Once again, I never ever once mentioned Newry or brought it up, but hey, don't let the truth get it the way of a good witch hunt eh son!! And at the end of the day RLF, the fact remains, more people disagree with you, than agree. In fact, twice as many.! Slayer, I texted Newstalk about the AOM debate, and I used my name. Would you mind telling me what in the name of God that has to do with Hoganstand and attention seeking? Now if I had a name like "slayer" and I used it, I could see what you meant. But as people do when texting comments to radio stations I gave my name and where I was at the time. So, if I was Brian from Limerick, Sean From Galway or Michael from Athlone, that's ok, But because I was Liam, from Walkinstown, which also happens to be my log in , that's a problem? Why?

To Slayer,

Good post man. We need more of that. 90% of us like debate on all GAA topics on this site but unfortunately the attention seeker(s) that you mention have no interest in anything except causing trouble. They know nothing about GAA anyway.

I think we should all just ignore his pointless, rabble rousing, childish posts in future.

She's talking about shopping in Newry again :-0 :-0 Better to ignore her and she'll eventually go away or concentrate more on the other sign-ons that she uses.

I have seen off far better and more capable foe's than you two in my time here!
So as I said, i stand by every single word of it and declare it all to be my genuine opinon.
Deal with it. I will say no more.

As for Ard Ri "roaring his head off" for the cricketers!! Ever been to a cricket match mate? I've been to plenty and like Michael Cusack I have a great love for the sport, but never ever I have seen or heard anybody "roaring" at cricket. It's not that kind of sport.

"Lancashire La la la lah, Lancashire la la la lah" sung with gusto as my adopted county won yet another one day trophy in our glory days.

Ever been to "The Hill" in Sydney?

Cricket is a working class game run by the upper classes, but the fans are mostly soccer supporters as well, used to roaring and shouting. I spent many days at Old Trafford, Headingley etc etc, roaring, shouting and singing.

Lots of interesting comments on this thread, Liam when you say we are not in competition with rugby and soccer you are 100% wrong. If you are involved with a club it must have huge numbers of players otherwise you would know this. Last year we could'nt field teams at U 16 level in our club because the Rugby boys, whose season had to be extened over matches postponed because of bad weather re fixed them for Wednesday knowing well that the U16 hurling and football championships were on that night. A neighbouriong parish had to give walkovers because it had players on the Kennedy Cup soccer team and they were told by THIER MANAGER NOT TO PLAY HURLING with their club until soccer was over. The GAA at underage level needs to reclaim its playing season. The soccer encrouched big time into it and now the rugby starts earlier and finishes later. By giving our showpiece ground to other sports we are letting them promote their sports to our pool of player and it makes no sense. The rent money that the GAA get for this is in the main been eaten up by committes and staff, Croke Park as an entity is a bit like this country in the years of the celtic tiger, spiralling out of control and loosing touch with the real people. Ask any club treasurer how much money his/her club as recieved from the rent money of Croke Park and you will get a 0, lots of promises no money. I have been to Thomand Parks, Landsdowne road, Hogan park, Markets field, Villa Park, the Emirates but nothing that could ever happen there could be a patch in what we had in 2007 with our hurlers. ( and we did'nt win anything ) Days like we had in 2007 will be numbered unless the clubs take back our association, put an end to the committee's on expense's and Croke Park is used mainly for GAA matches.

Real Louth, mind if I ask a personal question. Do you have a problem with women, or are you just a sexist or perhaps a misogynist? The last person I remember referring to men as women was Mike Tyson, and he certainly had problems with women.
