Ballybrown & my distant 2nd choice is Dromin-Athlacca.

Caherline V Newcastle West:

Good result for Caherline against a poor NCW team. NCW down 6 players through injury and suspension.
I think from 1st count NCW missed 9 scorable frees where Caherline missed 1. Not taking away from Caherline's win but surely if NCW had a good free taker the game would have been much tighter.

Game played in very hot conditions and when NCW were reduced to 14 men they suffered badly.

Some dirty strokes from both teams but more so from NCW, prob some memories from last years QF when Caherline cut rashers off them.

Can't see any of these teams challenging come the semi finals.

Caherline had their fair share of new faces, missing last years centre back,1 midfield and centre forward, and 3 intermediate debuts, incuding at full back.In all honesty Newcastle had no interest in hurling,it was x-rated stuff, and the only fighting was Newcastle fighting each other on the sidelinel.

i attended one intermediate match over the weekend and got a match report of another and these are my views on both. Caherline V Newcastle West this was one of the poorest matches i have attended in years. after caherlines impressive run to the final last year i was expecting them to continue to improve this year. however their performance seemed to suggest that the opposite is the case. both sides lacked any kind of class and one would struggle to see either side making an impact in the latter stages. indeed for newcastle relegation beckons. they looked like they were a side that hadnt trained. but in saying that they had their chances and had they scored their frees they would have been in touching distance towards the end and with caherlines ability to self destruct could have even snatched it. caherlines one bright point was the perfromance of Andrew Brennan who deserves to playing on a better stage than this. however any team looking at this will see that both their full back and full forward lines are immobile and way off the pace of championship and unless they make big changes here will finish a distant third in the group. in my view on this performance caherline have lost their place as the top intermediate side in the east and i would now rate them second or perhaps even third after the weekend. Mungret V South Liberties I wasnt at this match but a friend of mine was at it and said it was of a very poor standard. both teams looked like they underprepared and off the pace of championship which is a little worrying. Liberties just about deserved their victory it seems but other sides must be worried to see them back on the winning trail after last year. if they ever get their act together they could be in the shake up as many had tipped mungret to go a long way this year. but that is a big if

re sideline report, certainly would not have been a classic for a neutral, but considering the change of management a few weeks ago, players only returning to the fold recently.. it was always going to be about the result for us. We just did not think Newcastle W. would be so poor.

NCW were so poor as they were down 6 starting players on the night.
They will improve and I would not be surprised if they joined Caherline in the QF.

But a big improvement needed on last weeks performance
(and also a free taker - Missing 9 frees inside opp 45 is not good enough for any team)

Also: When is next round scheduled for?

Caherline are no world beaters,a team in transition, but their problems aren't anywhere as serious as Newcastles. 10 wides for Newcastle,9 for Caherline. 1 sending off for Newcastle, could have had at least 2 more.Lack of Disipline and fighting among their own. Will be shocked to see Newcastle bounce back from this pitiful display.

NCW are not as bad as their performance showd against Caherline.

Facts are, they were missing up to 7 players on the night due to various reasons (injury ect), Missed 10 frees, lacked training, and motovation.

Should be slightly better for next game if the they can get players return.

Still tip NCW for relegation Semi final, too good to go down junior A do.

Young team with hudge potential in the next 2-3 years with a lot of U18 players coming through the ranks.

Knockaderry and NCW will be the teams to watch in the next 2-3 years.

Fingers Killedy will be Junior A next season !!!!

Westoutcast id love to see kileedy junior a aswell but they wont loose to ballybricken and i disagree with your statement about knockaderry as they have no bottle like last years qfinal but they lack heart and bottle you wont win nothing without it

Ballybrown 09

I have played Junior, Intermidate and Senior championship in Limerick over the past 9 yers. So I would like to think I know a bit..............

Some statement to come out with. Time for you to go back to Clarina and keep thinking ye will win the county. As everyone knows Ballybrown do not have the bottle for it (never had).

The best chance they had of winning it was the year after they came down from senior, but did not even qualify for QF as far as I can remember.

Dromin A have a good chance as they are always there ot there abouts in the intermidate championship, but with Paul Neenan getting older they might be just short.

The championship this year is so open, up to 6 teams could win it.

ah tis very open alright but i wouldnt say 6 teams really.... in group 1 mungret playin bad this year not up to much, liberties looked very bad against dem also, monagea arnt too bad in fairness like wouldnt tip them but could sneak an oul semi final r even final.... knockaderry always dere r dere abouts!!!! in group 2 kildimo going no where dere awful this year and the fact cappamore lost to them doesnt say much for them... pallasgreenwould have the best chance from this group as monaleen not good enough to go up!!!! in group 3 its ballybrown and dromin athlacca going through so there match to decide 1st and 2nd should be good..... ballybricken not up to much also.... killeedy will be safe but wont go through!!!! in group 4 caherline will be safely through with hospital id say.... newcastle will have a relegation semi to come....!!

Mungret to beat Moneghea Pallas to beat Kildimo Kileedy to beat Ballybricken Dromin Athlacca to beat Ballybrown If proof were needed that the County Board don't give 2 flying *.... about the clubs, this proves it!!! 4 days notice for this weekends games! Apparently the rest of the Intermediate fixtures are planned for the following weekend. Work,Holidays etc are of no consideration to the County Board.Clubs will spend half the Summer sitting around twiddling there thumbs waiting for the call,no matter how short the notice.
