Caherline V Newcastle West: WestOutcast (Limerick) - Posts: 262 - 02/06/2009 09:25:00 299292 Link 0 |
Caherline had their fair share of new faces, missing last years centre back,1 midfield and centre forward, and 3 intermediate debuts, incuding at full back.In all honesty Newcastle had no interest in hurling,it was x-rated stuff, and the only fighting was Newcastle fighting each other on the sidelinel. eastgael (Limerick) - Posts: 629 - 02/06/2009 12:27:41 299476 Link 0 |
i attended one intermediate match over the weekend and got a match report of another and these are my views on both. Caherline V Newcastle West this was one of the poorest matches i have attended in years. after caherlines impressive run to the final last year i was expecting them to continue to improve this year. however their performance seemed to suggest that the opposite is the case. both sides lacked any kind of class and one would struggle to see either side making an impact in the latter stages. indeed for newcastle relegation beckons. they looked like they were a side that hadnt trained. but in saying that they had their chances and had they scored their frees they would have been in touching distance towards the end and with caherlines ability to self destruct could have even snatched it. caherlines one bright point was the perfromance of Andrew Brennan who deserves to playing on a better stage than this. however any team looking at this will see that both their full back and full forward lines are immobile and way off the pace of championship and unless they make big changes here will finish a distant third in the group. in my view on this performance caherline have lost their place as the top intermediate side in the east and i would now rate them second or perhaps even third after the weekend. Mungret V South Liberties I wasnt at this match but a friend of mine was at it and said it was of a very poor standard. both teams looked like they underprepared and off the pace of championship which is a little worrying. Liberties just about deserved their victory it seems but other sides must be worried to see them back on the winning trail after last year. if they ever get their act together they could be in the shake up as many had tipped mungret to go a long way this year. but that is a big if sideline_report (Limerick) - Posts: 2 - 02/06/2009 13:10:49 299527 Link 0 |
H/H vs Glenroe on fri nite was a good match from what i hear. Anyone at it? Anyone surprised wit d result? 1-16 to 1-14 in favour of H/H!!!! southmad (Limerick) - Posts: 18 - 02/06/2009 15:17:43 299673 Link 0 |
re sideline report, certainly would not have been a classic for a neutral, but considering the change of management a few weeks ago, players only returning to the fold recently.. it was always going to be about the result for us. We just did not think Newcastle W. would be so poor. Caherline09 (Limerick) - Posts: 25 - 03/06/2009 12:40:55 300563 Link 0 |

Caherline are no world beaters,a team in transition, but their problems aren't anywhere as serious as Newcastles. 10 wides for Newcastle,9 for Caherline. 1 sending off for Newcastle, could have had at least 2 more.Lack of Disipline and fighting among their own. Will be shocked to see Newcastle bounce back from this pitiful display. eastgael (Limerick) - Posts: 629 - 10/06/2009 09:02:23 306972 Link 0 |

Westoutcast id love to see kileedy junior a aswell but they wont loose to ballybricken and i disagree with your statement about knockaderry as they have no bottle like last years qfinal but they lack heart and bottle you wont win nothing without it Southern_emmet (Limerick) - Posts: 34 - 11/06/2009 13:34:16 308269 Link 0 |

Mungret to beat Moneghea Pallas to beat Kildimo Kileedy to beat Ballybricken Dromin Athlacca to beat Ballybrown If proof were needed that the County Board don't give 2 flying *.... about the clubs, this proves it!!! 4 days notice for this weekends games! Apparently the rest of the Intermediate fixtures are planned for the following weekend. Work,Holidays etc are of no consideration to the County Board.Clubs will spend half the Summer sitting around twiddling there thumbs waiting for the call,no matter how short the notice. eastgael (Limerick) - Posts: 629 - 22/07/2009 08:15:17 356388 Link 0 |
