Its gona be a cracker of a championship this year.you could pick from 6 teams all in with a serious chance of winning.heard ballybrown goin well but always are this time of the year but come the busniess sde of things they are found wanting.also hear glenroe are flyin but d/athlacca beat them in 1st round of the league.mungret have some nice hurlers but missing a bit of heart.knockaderry have to be in with a serous chance too.saw them play a few weeks ago and not like a typical west team.loads of hurling that should see the go a long way.my favs this year have to be d/athlacca.have to much hurling for any other team.this new man in charge supposed to have them ticking oveer nicley.what ever happens its gona provide us with some mouth watering ties.

4 groups of 4 Mossy.Top 2 of each group get to quarter finals.Group games fixed for weekends of May 31,June 21,and july 26.Id imagine these fixture dates are subject to change depending on Limericks progress in the seniors.

Anyone cud win it, but i think Knockaderry will do it . It ll only happen if condon stays injury free though.Himself and hanley wont have to play with western gaels dis year which will allow them to concentrate more on their club. I think de south clubs will find it tough dis year, because of Emmetts bein in de senior championship , Between county, club and then Emmetts , It will be tough on players to try and mount a challenge for de county with their club .

I think NCW will be under pressure this year. Have lost a few more players to Auz and injuries they will find it hard to replace them. A building year ahead hoping to keep their intermidate status intact until the next batch of young players come through.

Knockaderry got knocked off their perch the weekend against the 16 men of Killedy (incl referee).

Monaea another team who is in serious decline, I would say that they will last Intermidate for 2 years max.

Dromin/A to win at at a canter this year.....................

Willywonka, there are just 3 intermediate clubs left in the south and in my opinion all 3 clubs have a very good chance of winning the county. In fact, i would expect the winner to come from these three. Others that come into the reckoning would be Knockaderry in the west and South Liberties in the east.

Here is my analysis of the south teams:
Glenroe - Have to come into the reckoning although they may have lost their opportunity having lost the final 2 years ago and losing to Caherline in the semi last year when raging hot favourites - little or no new talent coming through so they're relying on an aging team. Their best chance is if Bally get knocked out of football early, which is unlikely - you will then see a bigger focus on the hurling in Glenroe. Big guns: Mike O'b, Stephen Walsh, Danny Murphy.

D/Athlacca - favourites in my opinion. Big strong side with plenty of hurlers. Anyone that beats this side will win it out. Big Guns: E.Benson, G.O'Leary, E.O'Leary,P.Neeenan and the 3 Kellehers.

Hospital/H - they may just have enough to do it this year. They appear to be concentrating on hurling compared with other years and are training very well by all accounts, which is the key for this club. Have taken big scalps in Cork in recent challenges. Very difficult team to get the better of and if they build up momentum they will very diffcult to stop. Have some nice young players coming through. Big Guns: A.Murphy (goals), Damien Reale, Donie Reale, Mark Deegan.

Early form suggests to me that ballybrown are going very, very well. Mungret meant to be working very hard too. Kileedy are moving along nicely also although lacking in numbers i think.Kildimo look very off the pace at the moment.
Believe the 1st round is may 31st altho think has to be confirmed due to limerick game. Cant wait ...lot of work to be done by a lot of teams in nxt 5weeks as games have seen have been poor quality so far.

Gud1stouch, westoutcast, southgael , I cant understand why u make Dromin/Athlacca such hot favourites in what is a very competitive division. This team has had 2 goes at senior hurling and were very unsucessfull on both occasions . I am always of de opinion that it is a lot easier to stay up in a division than to get up a division. I know they are a fine hurlin side but not hot favourites . Just look at teams like tour and claughaun who can play senior hurlin and have poor teams ,even kileedy who managed to stay up senior for years with a poor outfit. so how can Dromin /Athlacca get back up when they just cannot compete at senior hurlin level. I suppose they can always do what they did in 2004 that won them the intermediate championship, everyone in the county knows what happened that year .

both Knockaderry and Hospital Herbertstown are teams who have lots of potential and could do well.

The Intermediate championship is always a very open one and Caherline showed last year that hard work and knuckling down to training takes you very far. They didn't have enough to beat Bruff but with the same attitude again this year who knows.

Shoulderghost.
I believe he is refering to the match between Feenagh/Kilmeedy and Dromin/athlacca in the knockout stages of the intermediate championship. ( I think it was the quartefinal possibly semi final) Any way that match ended in a draw and Feenagh won in extra time, However the match was supposed to have been decided by a replay in the event of a draw not extra time. Dromin/ Athlacca lodged an appeal and won the right to have the match replayed. A replay which they won. They went on to win the county, much to the frustration of Feenagh/Kilmeedy who genuinly thought they had knocked them out.
I'm open to correction, but I believe that I'm accurate in this.

Yes bighitter dats wat i was refering to , It was in a 1/4 final , D/A appealed to de munster council in order to get a replay . It was some serious rule bending . der was a lot of bitterness around de county at de time as people felt D/A shud have just taken their baten after Feenagh/Kilmeedy bate em fairly. Correct me if im wrong but i believe they den beat NCW in de semi after a replay and then south liberties in de final after a replay . talk about barely winin a county championship. Its in de past now but it was a great bit of controversy at the time .
