liberties raced into a 1-10 to 0-01 point lead inside 15-20 mins-very impressive-really look good with sean hehir over them this year.
it was cruise control for the rest of the match to be honest-pallas were awful too no forwards at all-still think it will be an atlacca v ballybrown final though to be honest

See the semi final draws are made, Monaleen V Ballybrown on Sat 26th at 345pm in the Gaelic Grounds which is fine but heard the other semi final South Liberties V Glenroe or Dromin/Attlacca is down for Sunday 27th at 3pm in Bruff even though Emmetts are playing on Friday night 25th at 8pm under lights in Gaelic Grounds, think its very unfair to expext the Glenroe or Dromin/Attlacca boys to hurl with their division on Friday night and play a county semi final with their club less than 48hrs later.

It will be interesting to see what Emmetts team plays against Ahane. Will the intermediate club who are in the Intermediate semi-final release their players. Interesting times ahead.

Thriller in Killmallock last night!

Ballybricken were 7points up at half time with a strong wind, but N.C.W fought back and the introduction of Steven Kelly at half time making a huge difference around the middle of the field but the biggest turning point was the newcastle goal which incedently was their first goal of the championship! and with the last puck of the game Tony O Conner with a wonder point from from 14yards out and virtually from the sideline! Which led to N.C.W winning by a point and securing there safety. I cant see them fighting relegation again next year with a number of players returning from long term injurys and possibly the a few of the lads from Aus returning.

Cappamore and Ballybricken should be a dog fight, I personally hope Ballybricken stay up but i fear that they might be bullied out of the game by Cappamore as they are a hurling team through and through and Cappamore......dont do much hurlin at the best of times!!

Cappamore and Ballybricken should be a dog fight

Just like last year v caherline in the semis, mike o'brien was sent off for glenroe again last weekend in the 1/4s. You'd think he'd cop on at this stage. Liberties and dromin is set to be a cracker. This years county champs will come from this semi.

I was at the NCW V Ballybricken game on Saturday evening in Kilmallock.
A perfect day for hurling with a slight breeze blowing towards the far goals, no room for excuses.
Ballybricken were favourites for this game after a impressive win after Dromin/A and due to the list of injuries and suspensions that NCW have it looked like a easy win Ballybricken on paper but these games have a tendency of throwing up surprises.

Playing with the aid of a stiff breeze B'bricken raced to a 7 point lead at half time, at this stage the men from the West looked to be heading for the relegation final next weekend where Cappamore were waiting .
During the first half B'bricken dominated the middle of the field with their half backline, midfield and half forward line dominating against a young disorganised NCW team. B'bricken must have been concerned that the majority of their scores came for frees (I think 1-2 points from play for the entire match).
The second half started the way the first finished with a score for B'bricken but then this sparked a response from NCW. NCW went on to dominate the remaining of the game and gradually went ahead with 3-4 min left with a controversial goad where the ball seemed to be bundled over the line after what can only be described as a ruck on the B 'bricken goal line.
With the game heading for a replay (or extra time?), a long puck out from the NCW goalie fell kindly to NCW number 11 who slotted the ball over from a tight angle. Jubilant scenes followed with a sense of relief for the NCW players and supporters, whereas B'bricken face the lottery of the Relegation final. I predict that they have too much for Cappamore on the day but anything can happen in these games.

NCW will be glad to get this year over with, a disaster for them in fairness. The loss of key players throughout the year through suspension and injury nearly cost them their intermediate status.

When is the final scheduled to be played? Ballybricken surely will beat Cappamore. They will need a new goalie as I heard their Goalie got injured against NCW. Surely the sub goalie who played against NCW won't start.

Ballybricken Bohermore 4-13 v Cappamore 0-5, the Ballybrown result against Monaleen shows that the Dromin Atlacca, Ballybrown, Kileedy & Ballybricken group was the tough draw this year.

Liberties have gone into finals before as hot favs and come out beaten. Fair play to them for getting to another one. However Tom Ryan will leave no stone unturned in returning Ballybrown to senior level. Hopefully both teams will put in a good performance. Both sides are relatively young and whoever goes up should be capable of maintaining senior status for a few years at least.
