To City-slicker , I think you are a bit harsh on caherline from last year , you could not "massively overperform" all the way to a county final, they would have been found out earlier , admittedly, they were well beaten by a good Bruff team in the final . It is not easy to reach the same heights two years running and they did struggle this year. Funnily enough , they could/should have beaten Glenroe and would be through now. I take it so that as this group was so mediocre , H/H and Glenroe will be exiting in the next round ?

Clint_Eastman covered much of what i was going to write to mister Scarecrow, but i'll have my tuppence worth. Rumours are exactly that , rumours. Caherline were ready and more than willing to lock horns last friday, but it wasn't to be,our 1/2 back flew out on a weeks holiday monday, didn't suit him!! The comment about"supporters true colours" , is beneath contempt.Caherline scored 10pts from frees,Hospital 1-6. Not a huge difference.
City SLICKER,overachieved last year , i don't think so, 2 county finals in consecitive years, a lot of mileage. This year we underachieved, big time!!

Sorry lads but Im judging caherconlish not only on championship results but also from results of east intermediate and east senior performances over the last number of years, to be totally honest if they make it past the quarter finals in the next number of years I would be impressed-their panel overall is too weak and too many poor hurlers in the full forward and full back lines, but the team is now playing a nice brand of hurling which I hope remains despite the loss of sean herbert as coach.

Westoutcast- i like your controversial comments...... espically how people take them seriously when ita obvious your just tryin to be controversial!!!

Pity iv ruined your fun now haha, relegation should be interesting cant see NCW or Ballybricken goin down but if they do they both should come straight back up, Cappamore are my tip to go down anyway, with yo-yo club Dromin /Athlaca goin back up and Tour comin down to us!!!

South Liberties and Pallas meet in Caherconlish this Saturday.Liberties strolled through a handy group, but will be tested by an improving Pallas team.If Pallas are ready for this game i fancy them to put Liberties out.

Should be some great games this weekend:

South Liberties V Pallasgreen - On paper it should be Liberties bt Pallas are a seasoned tough outfit, but with the 2 O Neills and Slattery in their forward division and the fine weather conditions which should help their snappy forwards, think Liberties should go through by 2 or 3 pts

Dromin/Attlacca V Glenroe - Is it true this game is off, if so, why?

Hospital/Herbertstown V Ballybrown - A great game in prospect here, Ballybrown seem to be everybodys second favourites after Dromin/Attlacca for County honours, but Hosp are a fine hurling side, will be a battle between the Reale brothers and Alan O Connor and Mike Kiely, im goin for an upset here with Hosp to scrape through by a pt, might take a replay to decide this one

Knockaderry V Monaleen - The West men have done well to get this far but Monaleen should have too much with Geary, Cosgrove, Kitson, Nash and Ger Collins to the fore, dont think Knockaderry have somebody who can hold Peter Russell who is flying at the moment and could figure in Justins plans next year. Monaleen by 4pts plus

more injuries for Newcastle to worry about, with keeper Olly McCoy out of the relegation semi, centre back Martin Hennessy suspended as well as severel more injuries which include Sean Brown and Mike Martin(both lost to cruciate injuries) Steven Kelly to injury as well as county football and rugby,Darren McCarthy who is doubtful due to shoulder injury, Mikey Kelly injured, Mike Quilligan doubtful due to knee injury, Micheal 'Kozy' Dowling hamstring although iv heard that he will probly be back for the Ballybricken game and Tony O Conner(ex county intermediate) who is a long term absentee.

Looks likely that a number of minors will have to be thrown into the deapend, which will leave Newcastle with a very young team and lacking a lot of expeirenced players,(see above) so this could be a intresting couple of weeks for Intermediate hurling.
