it was actually ballinasloe that wanted it off last week and the flooded pitch excuse was convenient. they were told they wud have to play it in ballymacward then that evening but there was a camogie match there so they couldnt. id say it will go ahead and if one team cant play they will probably forfeit the points at this stage.

St Kerill's had a fairly big win over Ballinasloe 2-13 to 0-6. Was anybody at it? I suppose Kerill's would be that bit sharper seeing as they're training for the north board final. Will that be on next weekend? Am I correct in saying that Kerill's still have to play Kil/Clonberne and Claregalway in the league and if they win both of them they'll pip Headford for a semi-final place.

Kerrils only have Claregalway to play but Claregalway won't field so that leaves Kerrils level with Headford in joint 2nd place on 9 points. Kerrils will go through to the final though as they beat Headford in the league earlier in the year and the head to head result between the teams decides who qualifies.

Arain v spiddal in the west board champ final is on again this wkend so no league semi's i'd say. sat in rosaveal. i hear the islanders are training hard in loughgeorge. it's a hard one to call but i think the islanders should have enough for spiddal. should attract a good few neutrals. looking forward to it.

Fearruanua - I agree Oileain Arainn should be a bit too strong for An Spideal, just as long as they don't freeze. As Oileain Arainn were so desperate to play the game the first time around it might work in An Spideal advantage. I hope the rain stops and that the game goes ahead. Match on for 15:30. Ref: P Mac Samhrain. Looking forward to it and may the best team win.

Gaillimh - Do not try and take away from An Cheathru Rua's beating of Arainn a few weeks ago, yes the weather was bad and they kicked some poor wides but An Cheathru Rua could have had two more goals and played outta their skins. Remember An Cheathru Rua Juniors also beat Spiddal in the league this year - easily enough if i remember over in Pairc an Spideal!! The only 2 games An Cheathru Rua did not deserve to win this year was in againt Salthill, (Weakened side) and against Barna when they thought they just had to show up to win it. Lost to Na Piarsaigh by a point when the Cheathru Rua Midfielder was taken off injured after 10 minutes - did his cruciate and was out for the last 5 games - and should have drawn that game. Lost to Renvyle by a point -(the reason they go through and not us) - back in Renvyle (for the second year in a row having to play them back there!!!) and we lost by a point to Uachtar Ard in Uachtar Ard, we only had 15 men and it was a joke that the game was ever played, the weather was brutal and the pitch was brutal - the ref (frank as they called him throughout the match) should never of played it!! Two of our players crashed the conditions were so bad on the way to the game!! So please Gaillimh do not try and belittle our team this year, on our day we would take any team in the county at Junior level and that is our second team!!!

i was in a miserable rosaveal on sat. never been so early for a match in my life. i didn't hear bout the crash which seemingly had all the spiddal team and some of the arainn team stuck for over an hour. conditions were absolutely terrible for football eventhough the pitch held up well. match wasn't too bad considering the conditions. alot better than that tripe i paid 15 euro in to see yesterday in pearse stadium. we should have gotten some of our money back!!!! overall i think an spideal were robbed. arainn didn't register a score in the entire second half until the 33 rd minute. having this said if arainn showed any composure in front of goal they could have been out of sight. some terrible shooting. refereeing performance i thought was very poor. a well known spiddal man was beside me in the stand and he counted 24 frees against 6 in favour of the islanders. and it wasn't a dirty game by any means. o hiarnan is back i think next week so he'll prob be on the frees so again i'm goin ti stick with arainn eventhough they were extemely lucky to have another bite at the cherry.

Disgusting sights after this game today - Spiddal should be ashamed of themselves - there were children watching this and the knocking to the ground and kicking of the Aran selector was disgraceful - i hope the county board investigate.
