It is an absolute Disgrace that Moycullen did not field a senior team in this weekends Comortas Aitiuil! What a shambles they are, they go on about winning the Intermediate all ireland final yet on their home turf in a big weekend for all Gaeltacht teams they fail to put out 15 players. Lettermore people had wasted their day by coming out to the semi final and paying in to see their team play only to find out 15 minutes after the ball was meant to be thrown in that Moycullen would not be fielding a team. It has to be said this also gave lettermore an unfair advantage as they were all fresh facing a spiddal side that had a tough game against Carraroe the day before in very hot conditions and this showed in the final with lettermore stealing the win from Spiddal. Looks like there is problems with a lot of the conamara clubs this summer! I also heard on Sunday evening that Moycullen want the national finals to be held in Moycullen in a few years - this should never ever be allowed after this shambles - money grabbing is all they want - charging lettermore followers ?5 in at the gate to watch their side do a warm up drill!! Questions should be answered and Moycullen should get some form of suspension from the Comortais!

This is what Moycullen got a senior league game against Claregalway put off for? This is a joke. Some sort of sanction is necessary.

Use the 'Comortás Peile' thread for this discussion. This has nothing to do with Junior A. Thanks.

Both are tough to call ballinasloe and athenry are both going well. Headford have only played one game so its hard to tell how they're gettin on. Claregalway were unlucky to lose to ballinasloe by a point.

Predictions:
Id say athenry will just shade it against claregalway
The other is too close to call so im going for a draw!

im going with headford to beat ballinasloe and athenry to beat claregalway.athenry are a fit physical team while headford would rely more on pace and skill with a few tough men thrown in.that said ballinasloe will put it up to the lakesiders big time.

Who would be the dangermen for headford? Ballinasloes county U21 players must be there main men. Headford would have to be favourites at home and Ballinasloe have not been going well in recent years. They deserved to beat Claregalway though, Claregalway were very poor. Athenry will be favourites there, a big physical team.

Anyone at the Spiddle v Aran game last sunday? How are Renyeyle doing? Heard Carraroe were lucky on Friday? Any revised predictions on the season ahead?

Great win for Headford this weekend. Never thought theyd win by as much as they did. Was anyone at the game? Were Ballinasloe poor or whats the story?

Was a really lively game out in Headford today - final score Headford 2-12 Ballinasloe 0-11.
Headford were full value for their win and scored 2 fantastic goals. Ballinasloe contributed very well to the game also. Liam Lynch at midfield had a good game and kicked some good long range scores from play and frees. Keith Kelly was Ballinasloe's best forward showing a lot of pace and trickery. they lacked other scoring forwards though. Headford are not a physically big team - though they have 2 or 3 big lads - but they have a lot of pace in the side and looked to be the more skillful of the 2 sides.
These sides could meet again in the North Board championship semi final and this would be a very close game. headford deserved their win today but there is not much between the 2 teams and a reversal of this result if they were to meet again would be no great surprise.
Good win for Headford though who have 1 win and 1 draw from their 2 games played so far

I think they are due to meet in the champ quarters assuming they get there. I heard kelly was good in the first half kicking a few points from play but quiet enough in the second. Wasnt he corner back on the county minors last year? Big change from corner back to corner forward but then again i suppose if ur good enough to make county minor ur good enough to play forwards in junior

the ballinasloe forwards gave headford problems early on but once headford settled they were the better team.they are playing st kerrills saturday in ballymacward.not an easy place to go but you would have to fancy headford to go top of the table with a win.its great to see the interest coming back into headford football at adult level.theres plenty of talent there.commitment was always the problem.

Was not at the game myslef but I heard Headford looked the hungrier of the two and the Ballinasloe forwards never got going.
If they meet in the championship it should be a cracker, pressures on Ballinasloe to come strong again ina competitive league.

the person asked who looks good with the championship starting soon, that means who will do well in the first round and not who will win out the competition.i gave my opinion and i can guarantee you all them three teams will go thru to the next round.so what if athenry are a hurling club predominantly, they have a very good Junior A team in gaelic.ballinasloe made a burst nearly ten years ago and went from junior to intermediate and up to senior within a few years.thay have a massive population and loads of talent.headford are just down from intermediate and have more talent than most intermediate teams, its just a lack of commitment thats their problem.this year is different though.they are pushing hard for promotion.
if you are so knowledgeable who do you think will do well?
