Players feigning injury, dirty blows, poor refereeing, and a flare up at half time. That's only for starters. What other game in the world could a player throw back their head into another players face and not get sent off ? It's irrelevant if it caused serious injury or not ? Not going to let my young fellas watch the rest of it. No doubt some half wits think it's all in the game. RoverTin (Derry) - Posts: 228 - 14/12/2008 15:24:44 163932 Link 0 |

I agree entirely. Adrian McGuckian on BBC radio when asked about the Francie Bellew allaged headbutting incident stated that he knew Francie and that he isn't that type of player. Maybe Adrian should talk to Mickey Linden who was also '' tackled'' by Francie in the Ulster Club final at Casement Park in November 2004 Downgael15 (Down) - Posts: 199 - 14/12/2008 16:20:21 163944 Link 0 |

Cross showed today why they are the best club side ever, it is easy to see where Tyrone got the blueprint. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 14/12/2008 16:48:23 163956 Link 0 |

ROVER TIN unfortunately armagh and tyrone teams have been pioneers of this system since 02.but we must not let these counties destroy the game we love.its up the gaa to bring laws to change the game and not let teams that play that system get away with it. tomaoo7 (Dublin) - Posts: 5896 - 14/12/2008 17:49:30 163997 Link 0 |

Their is an awful lot of you people have a problem with francie bellew, the head butting incident as you are calling it never happened bellew is a hard man but his career has been ruined by the loons in the media!!!!! i would love him to be playing for tyrone, and if adrian mcguckin said he didint do it thats proof enuf for me as mcguckin is one of the most honest men in the gaa, the game itself was never going to be a classic especially being played at this time of the year but lets be honest their was some great skills displayed today. fiannablue (Tyrone) - Posts: 326 - 14/12/2008 20:17:00 164064 Link 0 |

Both teams are to be commended on what to me was an above average game given the conditions in the middle of December. Boxtyeater (Leitrim) - Posts: 745 - 14/12/2008 22:15:24 164102 Link 0 |
patrique if you call that match brilliant there is something badly wrong with you my friend - the quality of football on offer was poor in my opinion - typical of december football but still poor all the same. I agree to an extent that they had a game plan and stuck to it religiously but they were not 'brilliant'. As for incidents did you not see Bellew - in my opinion it was a headbutt and its not that long ago that a guy in tyrone got 72 weeks ban for the same thing. I believe he should have walked for what he done and that may have changed the outcome of the game. bocerty (Tyrone) - Posts: 539 - 14/12/2008 22:19:57 164104 Link 0 |
Guys this feigning injury thing is starting to creep into the game. Not blaming Tyrone here I'm sure it's been there for a long time with lots of teams but Tyrone's display in the All-Ireland underlined to me that the gaming is changing again and this aspect is starting to creep into the game. It's also very ironic too that it's alot of the supposed tough teams who are bringing it in. They seem to have a ploy to stir up the other team with little niggley stuff, foul play, dirty off the ball stuff and then once they know they have got them into enough of a frenzy they start to go down in a heap when it comes back at them.
