went out to see the leitmor/carna match on sat eve, make no mistake about it lettermore were a country mile ahead of carna, stronger, fitter, faster, and all round better footballers, and if they had key players missing thats makes it an even better show. carna on the other hand had their strongest 'squad' available, whether the strongest team was picked is a question for pat o hanlon to answer.if lettermore can carry this form into the championship they could be contenders, but if this is the best a full strength carna team can do then their season looks like it could be over in june. otto (Galway) - Posts: 189 - 20/04/2009 11:10:10 262661 Link 0 |
sorry otto, your facts are wrong, that wasn't carnas full sqaud, still a few missin, but thats no excuse,as for writing them of this early thats a bit silly, well done to ye though,ye were the better side but no medals being handed out just yet kman (Galway) - Posts: 8 - 20/04/2009 14:31:55 262917 Link 0 |
I was at the Leitir Mor/Carna match too, lovely day for it. I always liked watching matches in Pháirc a' Mháimin and there have a great set-up there. Leitir Mor deserved to win. Some good scoring by both teams. Leitir Mor could have scored at least one if not two more goals. Carna are needed a scoring forward, there best forward was on the bench and when he came on he made an impact. Starie1975 (Galway) - Posts: 444 - 20/04/2009 15:26:43 262987 Link 0 |
nicely said starie1975....it was a great game with great weather....with both teams knowing the other one had the potential to win....was our day though but im sure carna with the team they have will bounce back. staic_brea (Galway) - Posts: 15 - 20/04/2009 16:33:16 263063 Link 0 |
kman who are the few carna are missing, don't say conor coyne or michael casey, and less of the ''ye'' i'm not a lettermore supporter, but I admire the way they tore into the game from the start, unlike carna who froze yet again when the chips were down. otto (Galway) - Posts: 189 - 20/04/2009 17:06:33 263112 Link 0 |

Just wanted to say, it was a pleasure to watch the Carna v Leitir Móir match on the glorious evening we had last Saturday. As one or two of you have pointed out a great atmosphere in both camps with a marvellous display of clean skillful football which is what it should be about ag deireadh an lae! Thought the margin would have been tighter but it shows that it's all down to good footballing, we can slag each other until the cows come home but its the end result that counts. Shame the league just doesn't have the same level of importance as previous years. It's a long road yet and who's to know what will happen.
