Oughterard will defo be there next year. if yeer players took 6 months off theyd still be there for most of the games! like this year yee could object to playing games and put the league and championship back a couple of months again, yee must have great contacts in the county board......... maybe if yee cancelled all weddings/21st and functions in oughterard yee might make to games!! chancers......... Good side if half their side is in America and the other half are at a wedding and then they can field a team and win. cloud9 (Galway) - Posts: 92 - 11/12/2008 11:41:12 161816 Link 0 |

its def going to be a team from westboard. the standard of football is huge in connemara. If carna cocentrate on football and not boxing when the going gets tough, and if they can hold on to there jobs in carna maybe to keep them from travelling to australia and america they MIGHT MAYBE have a chance...... other serious contenders r lettermore, james 2 who come close every year and uachtarard if they can bring there annual championship form into the league they could be a sleeping giant in galway football with some good strond underage coming up this year. fear chuigeal (Galway) - Posts: 129 - 13/12/2008 13:47:34 163632 Link 0 |
Gaillimh time to find something else to whine about. it was a genuine assertion that the pitch was unplayable for that match. the referee was proven to be wrong in this case and oughterard went through the neccessary avenues to seek the right to replay the match. ytou werent at any of the meetings or indeed the match to pass comment. oughterard a couple of years ago lost an appeal for a rematch due to them not showing up for a game the day their chairman died. a legitimate request that was turned down. the result of them failing to show up was a loss of valuable points which could have kept them up senior.another time oughterard played an u-21 final on the day when one former player was killed in a road accident. the player was 18 years old. the match was not called off due to him not being a fully paid member at the time. as you can see by the above examples, oughterard have not always been "in" with the county board. killanin (Galway) - Posts: 4 - 13/12/2008 16:09:30 163681 Link 0 |
has to come from the north considering St. Kerrils beat spiddal and Athenry beat Renville in junior county finals......standard of football much higher in north undoubtably JoeO (Galway) - Posts: 37 - 14/12/2008 16:22:11 163945 Link 0 |
Gaillimh...are you still whinging. Reason for replay: Recognised that the match was cancelled originally only for Carna being sweet with Currin, Yous are saved from coming up against serious senior teams like us that'd run up a cricket score against yea. JoeO what does Junior A have to do with anything, rubbish grade of football that is miles off....well anything higher than Junior A. Expect Monivea to be strong next year; although they were a joke this year in senior the drop in standard combined with a few decent underage teams in recent years they should have a good team. t.g (Galway) - Posts: 109 - 14/12/2008 19:02:14 164024 Link 0 |
