Best: Semple Stadium (Atmosphere unbelievable....for any decent match)
Worst: Pairc Ui Chaoimh (Kip-thing it might have been improved though)

Portlaois is nice. Pity its wasted on Laois. Wexford Park is magnificent but never used, same as the Gaelic grounds in Limerick. Even the BIFFOs have a great job made out of Tullamore. Pearse Stadium in Galway is my favourite. Cusack Park in Mullingar is nice in a hilarious sort of way. If you kick the ball over the bar at one end it whacks the Dunnes Stores. If you kick the ball over the bar at the other end, theres a very good chance of putting it through the window of the appartments behind the posts.

Markevic Park in Sligo is my second most hated stadium, the worst stadium is our own Conleths Park in Newbridge. Have you ever been in the toilets under the main stand? The stuff nightmares are made of. Its like the toilet in Trainspotting.

Me too sorry, what county was the pitch in overlooking loughneagh? Creggan in Antrim overlooks loughneagh couple of fields away in actual fact.

I enjoy Croke Park and Breffni Park is a treat now. Clones is a fine ground and the atmosphere in the town is great for games, but the stewarding the the place can be intimidating at times. Sometimes they have security companies working and it really takes away from the day, and creates a bad vibe.
Thurles is a cracker and I have been to a couple of football games there. It is the best surface I have ever seen - including Croke Park. Most the GAA stadiums (Killarney, Navan, Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Casement)are from a different era and have real charm. The new stands in places like Portlaise and Newry bring a new lease of life to places.
Some of the best are the smallers grounds like Cusack Park in Mullingar. It takes 10,000 people and even with a small crowd seems full, which leads to a great buzz in games.

Ball-boy what you always come in with your rugby talk for when people are debating gaa issues in this case stadia? Your a full Thomond doesnt even come close to what semple means to GAA people, you could maybe comapare Thomond with Lords Cricket groung maybe twickenham. Croke Park and Semple and other GAA stadia around the country are a tribute to the GAA men and women of our country a symbol of our heritage and culture on the other hand thomond is a symbol of a foreign occupancy on our land end of story. (no disrespect to the irish men and women whom play rugby today)

Jaysus NSG you're not off again!

When I read your post of 10.47 this morning I thought you had turned a corner - "I personally believe that the championship format (football) needs totally revamped we need a European Rugby Style format". Here was NSG looking to take a leaf out of rugby's book and use their format. Alas less than two hours in your post above you reverted to type!

Why is Thomond a symbol of a foreign occupancy on our land? There are thousands of buildings in this land, thousands of place names, thousands of people that are such symbols. Shall we get rid of them all?

Lets also get rid of all multi national companies, shops, employers. Lets get it green!!

Lets have the agriculture co-ops run all our shops, lets ban foreign films and go back to dancing at the crossroads, lets knit all our clothes and get the donkeys and carts back out!

Its part of what we are ....

Whoever said Ballybofey isn't a stadium - it holds over 20,000, how is that not a stadium? Personally don't mind Ballybofey, it's ten times the place Ballyshannon is, absolute kip there. Casement is a fine spot and I feel it should be the home of the Ulster final. Clones is a nightmare to drive in and out of. Croker is, obviously, the best of the best.

Been to Castlebar as well, joke of a place.

Pearse Stadium is a nightmare for parking if you don't get there early.

I think the atmosphere at matches comes down to the quality of the match itself. A good match will create a great atmosphere no matter where its played.
