Does anybody know who runs the Longford GAA website??? www.longfordgaa.ie A while back I remember some rubbish that was put up on it about some lads 21st!!! And now they have someting about 2 lads headn off travelling calling them 2 fine gassuns or something along them lines!!!! Its the counties main web page for god sake!!! If ya wanna do that then get onto facebook or bebo and plaster it all over there

that website was run very well all year.. if u rem throughout the year all big games were updated shortly after every game and it was wel up to date wit previes pictures results etc! every one is quick to give out but no1 ever praises!

Credit where credit is due in all fairness it not a social web site,iv voiced my opinion on this before,in my opinion the longford web site is a joke,for the last 6 week the top story has been glen ryan th enew manager of longford,from then till noe the killoe ladies have got to the all ireland semi final th eunder 21 championship has reached the semi final stages and every college in longford has won there first round in respective compitions. it is a gaa web site for gaa not a ego booster for slashers players.

its not a social website all right,but in all fairnes wat is the harm?

the website is excellent in that you will find match reports,pics etc almost within 24hrs of the matchs.

the 21st in the summer was foolish to put up but i dont see the problem with posting a couple of lines regarding players who played county football,no harm caused AND the football/hurlin stuff is still posted.

so relax the cacks.......

i agree with onthe40,the website is not what it used to be...der was hardly any mention of the killoe ladies when they were on there leinster or all-ireland journeys,is it becasue its womens football thats why its not put up?? these were the only team out of longford to win anything this year.tis a complete an utter joke!

who cares about womens football onthe40?football is a mans game and i think its great to see young lads 21st on the longford website!!mark smith and david sheehan, especially the later, have been great servants to longford football and the county team!!david sheehan would have been playin centre half forward for longford this year!his accuracy, tenacity in the tackle and scoring ability is second to none!!i just hope that he doesn't start boozing when he lands in oz and comes back next year refreshed!!you need the break and the best of luck!!

Have to agree with spinx on this. if they want to post stupid **** about themselves let them do it on there own bebo pages and on the slashers pages!!!! and if they say they deserve it cos they did great stuff with the county, what exactly have they done????? Sure if that was the case spinx there are lots of clubs in the county that have done noting for longford football...colmcille didnt manage a win this year in leinster,dromard didnt last year...apart from the drumlish teams from the late 90's and the clonguish team of a few years ago they are the only ones with really good runs,but you could also say what good is a run if you dont win a leinster title.

Praising these lads achievments for Longford on the "official" longford GAA website is just symptomatic of the problem with the Slashers club. Undoubtedly the duo are talented footballers but their achievemtns with Longford are limited to say the least. Cant imagine the same stuff being put up if players from Colmcile, Drumlish, Dromard were leaving for Autralia or America!

What about Dessie Barry, Sean Donnelly, Padraic Gearty, Sean Kilemade, John Martin, Niall Caslin, Gerry Barrins, John Murphy-one of Longford's best managers since the 60s. They drink as much in other clubs as they do in Slashers. More senior championships than any other club.
