This player impresses me more and more each time i see him play ! Great vision and can kick off both feet .. An old head on young shoulders ! The treatment he recieved last sunday was pretty disgraceful.. I see th pictures made the press on monday ! Matty is a hardy cub of 17 n he could have levelled th opposing player back but he showed maturity in choosing not 2 ! I feel he was th heartbeat of last years minor team and I no he could lead his school to glory 2 ..

An_Other... ur rite i think that matthew didnt get enough praise for all hard work he put into last yeras minors. Players like coney, mc neice and oneill got the praise (even though well deserved) bt matthew donnelly was like the playmaker. Hes a player nt to many people heard about and a lot of people were questioning why he was in the team or his worth to the panel bt he proved them wrong. A player i think who has a big future..

Trillick should not get carried away. They are just an ordinary team with ordinary players. No one is that special in the squad. Tyrone posties on here are referring to a young 17 year old being so brilliant have short memories. Let me take you all back to the Croke Park in September of this year when in my opinion he failed miserably in his representation in his county minor team's final with Mayo and his performance resulted in Tyrone being forced into a replay. It is at this level that real barometer of talent is measured and not in a meaningless club competition. Now to the Ulster Club Intermediate semi final and the true story behind the teams. Let's put a true perspective on this hype. Trillick's win against a bottom of Fermanagh's senior division 2 team, Erne Gaels is no great achievement, as the Belleek team don't really rank in terms of quality football in the county. Similarly, this 'middle of the road' Trillick met a very poor Monaghan quarter finalist, Ballybay two weeks ago. Therefore, one must conclude that Trillick having met weak opposition will now face the true test when as expected they will be humiliated in the final by their Derry opponents.

Hi Irvinstowngael, Trillick can only beat whats put in front of them, and unfortunately for your own county that was the best you's had to offer and once more Tyrone conquered over Fermanagh.

Also note how typical of a Fermanagh team the Gaels were by resorting to violence when they werent getting things their own way, Derrygonnelly tried it a few years back and were beat by Carrickmore. Well done to Trillick, think yous can go all the way!!!

I agree wif IrvinestownGael but only on this topic. Too much is being made of Triliicks ulster club run and it looks as though they had an easy passage but their teenage will have to become harder to make any in roads into the big Derry lads who have it all! I do not hold out much hope for our intermediate reps.

It's good to see some agreeing with me on this subject. Yes DromoretheGreat, you are spot on for a change, the Derry club opposition defence will be tougher in the final and it won't be as easy for the young Trillick forward to penetrate as with his lads of his own age group as in the school McRory games. Unlike his previous effort in the All Ireland Minor final, he will have to get much harder and rise to the occasion quickly otherwise his hope of making an impact will flop as in the said final against the Mayo lads. If Trillick's chances of success depend so much on him, what does that say about the team itself and their hopes of progressing? It doesn't look good.

Hello Shamtown Gael!

"Let's put a true perspective on this hype. Trillick's win against a bottom of Fermanagh's senior division 2 team, Erne Gaels is no great achievement, as the Belleek team don't really rank in terms of quality football in the county."

Exactly, wasn't this the same Erne Gaels team that hammered yourselves in the Fermanagh Division 3 league final? Even better that this is your first post since then? What would Trillick do to your bunch that have struggled to gather 15 players for most games?

All true Tyrone GAA followers will give this Trillick team their backing in the Ulster IFC as done for every other Tyrone club representing us over the years at Senior, Intermediate and Junior. Anyone who doesn't is just very petty and jealous.

RE irvinestown snail,
You are the epitome of all that is wrong in the GAA, back biting and sniping and with the failure to see what is in front of you. Trillick are in the ulster final because they have beaten everybody they have played this year, in fact the only defeat they have suffered was a league game to rock the week after they had won the championship and partied hard into the wee hours on main street, hardly much cause for criticism. On way to the tyrone title they beat rock, former all-ireland junir finalists, greencastle, former all-ireland junior champions, stewartstown, former ulster winners and moy, who have four all-ireland winner player. they defeated a ballybay team with paul finlay, a player chosen to represent ireland recently on its starting 15. They defeated a determined redhills team that is up-and-coming. They defeated the best fermanagh could offer, which was pitiful to say the least and we know how they reacted to that. Instead of wishing your neighbouring parish well you have let yourself down as you do time and time again.
on the subject of mattie donnelly, who you say was shown up in the allireland minor final. I wonder who scored the equalising point point in the drawn match? could it have been mattie, the same player who added three from play in the replay? before you come onto the tyrone site posting your bile at least get some facts to attempt to back up your bile. whether trillick win on sat is irrelevant to your arguement, i doubt they will get humiliated as you say as they have already done their club proud to get this far! TRILLICK ABU

For the record in my humble opinion mattie donnelly is one of the greatest prospects in tyrone for the next few years, he comes from a great footballing family, has the size to cope with treatement of men ten years his senior and has the ability to score and create at will. he's also a firmly level-headed lad. he takes free with both feet, how many players in the country can do that?

Listen SHAM Mattie scored the equaliser in that match and had a great game.. he is an outstanding player.

And another thing you big fool, Trillick deserve all the praise they're getting, they have been great this year and its a disgrace that a shammy gael like yourself should try to take away from their success..

I doubt the green eyed monster has bitten you.

the problem with sham gael is pure jealous as he cannot stomach any neigbouring club succedding wherther it be in fermanagh or tyrone. his comments which r trying 2 put down mattie won't work as i know him and it will make him more determined. mattie maybe wasnt at his best in the 1st of the all ireland finals but that was a one off as everyone now sees tis lad a canavan for tyrone. sham u should show more respect for younger players.

mattie donnelly scored the equalising point in the 1st all ireland! alot of pressure on him 4 dat kick. alot credit has til go to him 4 that. And also 4 trillick he is one of the main men and he is only 17 years old. not looking 4ward to him playing Clonoe in the new season. But he is a great player so stop this nonsense about him being rubbish!

Sham gael i RARELY agree wif you as you know very well. So don't try and use my hostilty towards Trillick to try and get backing for your comments even though i agree wif some of it.
The question i would ask Trillick or those who support them, why if they are so great they are stuck in a lower grade division?
The answer is that they are not good enough to be rated with even the worst of our div 1.
So less of the bumming.
We'll see what you say next week about it, long faces i would expect.

ah the jealousy shines through there!!! Dromore and Fermanagh win nothing this year but still find time to go and abuse other teams who are winners!!!! People in glasshouses shouldnt throw stones lads. The trillick Seniors have won or are in strong contention for any competition they have entered this year. How have irvinestown and dromore done this year????

Drmorethegreat are you related to the shamtown snail by any chance. If you had bothered to think about it, trillick will be in the same division as dromore next year, on account of winning the intermediate championship, it really not that difficult to keep up so do try. The lower division you refer to is the same grade clonoe came from last year on account of them winning the old division 1b, before this year's restructure, remind me again how clonoe did this year. Take a look at the championship roll of honour and your find dromore slumped down in the lower end, with your neighbours trillick near the top.
