Niall Crossan (Ernes Isle) in a Leinster club game in 97 or 98 (i think) Hit one post, bounced across the goal, hit the other post, bounced out. Umpire gave it. Won the game for them by a point..

In 91, DJ Carey took 7 steps, Liam Dunne was fouled and DJ dropped the hurl. In Wexford, it's still not forgotten!!!!!!!!!!!!

Granted, in 97, Billy Byrne hopped the ball off the ground (gaelic football style), took it up and stuck it in the net!

Other controversial scores - Seamus Darby springs to mind!

Mikey Sheehy's goal in the '78 all Ireland final has to get a mention. Great skill but should it have been allowed? Also , I think it was Leo Turley scored a 'point ' in the '95 championship against Carlow in Portlaoise that was at least a yard wide. The sunday game showed that the ball was widw and fair play to Laois , they offered Carlow a replay.

i rem a goal for kerry against tipp about 98/99 time in the days of flat knockout - the shot was hit by crowley maybe? missed the umpires head as he ducked hit the outside ot the net hitting the back post , so the shot was wide came back to the player kicked it to the net and the goal counted kerry won by about 3-4 points , tipp were leading when the "goal" was scored.

Graham Stuart for Everton, goal against Wimbledon in 92.
last game of the season and everton had to win to stay up. 8 mins left and it 2-2
he took a meek shot which somehow went through Hans Segers(the wimbledon goalkeeper) and rolled into the net.
everton won 3-2.
the fact that this goal was brought up in court about Hans Segers involvement in match fixing addes to the controversy of it all!

Spot on ollie, 7 mins injury played, louth on the attack around the half way mark when the ref stops play and awards us a free near are own end line .the free ends up being kicked over the sideline at which piont the ref gets a bottle trown at him and he tells the meath player not to take it yet until he gets rid of the bottle, when he looks back the kick has been taken and it is caught by a meath player over the end line( KICK OUT FOR LOUTH OBVIOUSLY) but he continues play and passes it across to gerathy the rest is history, scandelous.
