Currin v Aghabog final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I see Currin have got the Junior Champions in the Semi Final of the League. I note that my beloveth Currin sons of St Patrick have beaten Drumhowan twice this year and that Toostie has indicated that he would fancy our chances against Drumhowan.

I am going for a Currin win of 2 points as Drumhowan will want to win Ulster - Currin in the Intermediate next year.

Ben Clerkin for Junior Player of the Year with Manus Quinn a close second????

Well done to Aghabog on reaching the final.A great result against Killeevan.
i am delighted that you won as you are the best bunch of lads of the field in the junior ranks.
we will never forget the support that you give us in the final a few years ago.
lets hope for a great final next week and may the best team win.
im sure we will all join in the celebrations next sunday night whoever wins.

I see hugoboss is at again his dislike for Killeevan GFC knows no bounds i seem to remember we had a guy called EJ from Scotshouse on the old format and he as well had the same problem maybe it is the same person who knows but i dont think the village of Scotshouse would be unlucky enough to have two. The history of both clubs is long and proudl but i think the Killeevan trophy cabinet is a fraction larger and thats even if you win on Sunday.

I have to agree with Eamon that hogoboss is really very childish - there's not much that can be done about him. The footballers of newbliss have won more than the footballers of Currin and hogoboss's attitude is very much that of the inferior footballer getting to a final - an sense of importance

Anyway wishing Currin the best on Sunday but if Aghabog win on Sunday good luck to them too.

Final Score Currin 2-07 Aghabog 1-09 - will be close but will go for Currin by a point

Best of luck to all on Sunday - I'll be there cheering you on.

Looks like junior again for currin. Glad to see Aghabog promoted, junior will be tough next year with seans and emyvale down.

Unfortunately I was not in a position to attend the final ( circumstances outside my control) but I heard in "the local" last night that Aghabog were deserving winners - Well done the men from the bog.

Hard luck to all in Currin especially to Tootsie - stay putt and I am sure you will get us promoted.

Regards

well done to aghabog yesterday you made a lot of people happy in clones and killeevan..maybe the currin supporters thought the final was last weekend when they beat a 2nd string drumhowan team because they were beeping there horns through the village of newbliss last weekend on there way home from drumhowan thinking that they won something..so a bit premature i think lads..

it will be interesting to see what hugoboss/ben thinks now??

Twas with a heavy heart I depated the scene in Emyvale last Sunday evening by beloveth Currin beated fair and square by the men from Aghabog. Currin 09 will most certainly do the dobule and in 2010 with promoted to seniors were they belong

Who wrote the match report on Currin Aghabog!? What language is it -a hybrid of Elvish and Esperanto? What were they smoking at the time?

just want to say well done to Aghabog last sunday.totally deserved victory although not playing your best.
as Currin went 8-4 up with 15mins to go it looked as if they were in cruise control and it was a matter of how much Currin were going to win by.but with a never say die attitude and a goal against the run of play threw the whole thing wide open.within 6 minutes another Aghabog goal put them firmly incharge as currin struggled to string 2 passes together.
Currin looked to panic and if were still there today probably still wouldnt score.
a very dissapointing game but aghabog showing a greater will to win got them the win they deserved.
best of luck to Aghabog in intermediate next season, you are a great bunch of lads.
As for us, i think a big managerial name which will be anounced in Janruary will shock the county,a very young team(unlike some of our begrudging neighbours) with some great minors coming through and a bit of belief ,we are in for a big yer next term.

in relation to hugoboss/ben your neighbours arent begrudging at all..3 things that turn people of currin
1: when people on this site slabber on about currin doing this and that
2: before the clones game in the championship semi final all the talk coming from currin was about how bad clones were and how they were gunna hammer us
3:on currins way home from drumhowan people from currin starting beeeping there horns through the village of killeevan as if they had it won already..both ourselves and killeevan have won more silverware than currin will ever win..

thats just 3 quick reasons of the top of my head why most people in the county were glad to see aghabog wining...

Well hogoboss I totally disagree with you about Currin being an up and coming team- I think a honest assesment of Currin would be that we are a reasonable good junior team but would make a very weak Intermediate team - simple as that - remember 2005 scores like Inniskeen 2-23 Currin 0-04.

Your thesis that Currin have an up and team with good minors coming along - that makes me laugh - in the mid to late 1980s currin had great yound players such as Eoghan Moore, Eamon Carey, Pauric Smith, Shane Smith, David Rafferty, Seamus McQuaid, Brian Smith, Roger Carey but bar Roger and Tootsie none played football for more than three years for Currin - indeed Tootsie took a five year mid term break. Sure how many of the 1998 minor team are still about!!!

You talk about a big name manager coming to currin that would shock the County? I do not think that having an outsider will help Currin - I think tootise done a fine job considering the circumstances - I hear Hogoboss Senior has expressed an interest in the job but not sure if he would be the right candidate this time round.

Best wishes to Aghabog

Great to hear that hugoboss is coming back to manage Currin - with hogoboss as captain - Currin for at least promotion if not indeed for the double. Well done Freddie for helping to get Hugoboss and indeed to Quigers for all his help.

The world's a better place all of a sudden.
