galway minors did not deserve to beat sligo in the first round of the connacht championship about three weeks ago i think they will do very well too even give mayo a challenge never mind beating them

If you were at the game that day you would of seen that the conditions were terrible making it very difficult to play good football and both teams struggled at times. The minors bet Mayo in the league and there is no reason why they can't do it again.

I hear they're is a few injuries on the panel, any word on what the team would be like for Mayo game?

Looks like Steede will come out as 3rd midfielder..leaving a very dangerous full forward line for Galway.
Cunningham from B'sloe who started at wing forward against Sligo is out after a recent knee operation and C Sweeney was due to start at no11 but not picked to start because of an injury,Flynn from an Athenry coming in as a replacement for Cunningham.
Gerry Fahy has more or less the same personnell from the Sligo game but has a new system in place with 3 around midfield and plenty of space for the two inside and for the others to burst through.. i think they minors will beat Mayo and the seniors will beat Sligo so it could be a very good day on sunday!!!Bring on double wins

Galway hammered by 9 points. Somebody needs to get a grip on the underage coaching setup in Galway as for the last few years the underage teams have been very poor apart from the minors in 2007. Mayo are beginning to dominate underage in Connacht.

Ladswhats happening?. This Galway team 2 yeas ago won Teb Webb and or were teb webb finalists? Why cant we prove this n Minor level? Has Gerry Fahy done somthing wrong or do we need a face like Liam Sammon in the minors? Just about overcoming sligo and getting hammered by mayo!. i feel ashamed of this group of lads, they have plenty of talent but are complete indivduals. i hope the minor championship club will show some real talent in the county

After 16 pages of talking absolute rubbish they get knocked out in the second round!!!

Fairplay to the lads but its ye that were blowing them out of porportion!! There was serious potenial there but because of this thread people simply expected too much from them and there was huge pressure on the team!!

You're right martinjoe! If the panel is to be taken as the best minors in the county, Spiddal will play Michael Breathnachs in the county final. I would wonder also how the management is selected?

hard luck to the minors!!! just wernt good enuf!! in all fairness mayo had started der warm-up at 10.30 while galway wer still in their tracksuits taking a few shots on goal??????? preperation for the day was terrible!! galway also looked like a team that had never played wit each other before!!! any time for a kickout der was atleast 3 galway lads jumping for the 1 ball??? i was also very disappointed wit da work rate of some players! the backs had fine games along wit eric monahan in the forwards but from 8-15 very disappointing! when u have ta take off both ur midfielders its goin to be a bad day!!! there was no wer near enuf footballers on the team too many players wit hardly any skill!!! considerin corofin won out everytin in mnor last year and the scores they accumulated der shud ave been alot more forwards on!!! takin into consideration there was only 4 lads from the stronghold clubs in the north??? also galway now have not reached the connacht final 2 years in a row after winning an all-ireland????? real consideration has to be put into minor level in galway!

how come none of these proud footballing clubs from north galway had no players involved with the minors today? Were there players involved for the league and let go? or are thier underage structures very poor?
to be honest i expected big things from this minor team, afterall preperations began last November
