Irelands greatest EVER sports star

Breffni will you stop, the manure reference was joke and no it doesnt negate any point i'm making if the person reading it is mature enough to accept the joke and read the rest of the post,

True i'm not Manchsester United FC's(is that better for you) biggest fan but i can most definitively evaluate a individual players performance regardless of the team, like we all do for GAA, thats why i said not counting his form for Manchester United FC cos he played brilliantly for them,

and another point i actually like keane (a bit) he just didnt play that well for Ireland apart from the 2004 qualifying campain and while there were a few people that caused him walking out (and thats what he did) the main point is he could off kept his mouth shut till after the world cup like a professional should do- its the same as these tell tale autobiographies while players are still at a club

I haven't read every post, and I'm open to correction here... But I cannot believe out of the large number I did read that Keith Wood wasn't mentioned!!

hard to look past o'sullivan, she was some athlete. wait for her to get to about 150 metres from home and watch her kick. left the field for dead. pity those chinese lassies robbed her medal. won enough to justify her greatness, olympic gold or not.

other than that got to be delaney, roche and kelly, carruth and collins, harrington and clarke, giles and brady

so many to pick from, lots of irish greats!

Sorry badmonkey, it was in fact lifford gael...
And no Cavan-Slasher, i am not a man utd fan, anything but! But i dont take the northern POV of 'if he plays for us he's the best', i see what he and the club achieved and can honestly admit that he was a fantastic sportsman, regardless of the team i support

Possibly but it is time for him to retire now.

And I think he announces his retirement very soon if the rumours are to be believed.
