You might console yourself with the funding argument, but it's a weak excuse and also fairly petty.
Dublin had some of the finest players to play the game on their teams of the 2010s. One of them who retired recently related to our own great Seán Purcell. Many of them Kilkenny included, and Con O'Callaghan well able to and not ashamed to speak our native language.
As Seán Bán said a few years ago, he often found it easier to find Gaeilgeoirí for an interview when Dublin were playing compared to Galway.
Whatever work the GAA did to promote Gaelic Games in Dublin was a brilliant. It grew the game in areas which could so easily have become a wasteland for the GAA. Anything which helps to grow and promote our games and by extension a powerful part of our culture is a very good thing.
