looking at the game sunday, enjoyed it, but it struck me how so many lads seemed to be only able kick with 1 foot, ud expect at this level most would be able kick with both feet

I don't think players would ever try to kick with both feet, I'm sure they would fall on the ear if they tried kicking with both.

Being able to kick off 'either' foot is one thing, but being able to do it well from distance and under pressure is another. You'll find that most forwards can kick scores off their weaker foot from around 25 yards. They'll do it if they have no alternative. That's a marked difference compared to years ago, when most players only kicked off their stronger foot at all times.
Players are practicing it, but it's not that easy, even with a lot of practice to become close to as proficient with either foot. Even in professional soccer, players will often default to taking on a slightly harder shot off their stronger foot, than an easier one off their weaker foot.
Kicking off your weaker foot while standing is also much easier. Doing it while running at pace and off balance, is tricky. It can be improved massively and some players have clearly put a lot of work into it.
Players like Shane Walsh are very rare. While I've no doubt he practiced a huge amount with either foot when he was young, there's definitely an element of it just coming more naturally to some. Like any skill.
It's a game-changer if you can kick very well off either foot. Even the threat of being able to do so, make a defender's job so much harder.

Armagh 0-13 Tyrone 0-10 it was a contest low on any highlights and much to enjoy. The Tyrone goal out of the blue with minutes to go and extra time was much improved and a more enjoyable viewing.
