TSG rarely have anything good to say about Leinster.

I've apologised already for my remark re Hoggie! The intro managed not to mention Dublin at all! Second part when they did the indepth match analysis was better and perhaps understandable that the story for them is the decline of your fellas rather than the improvement in others. I may have had a few pints on the way home to watch it! BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4336 - 25/05/2026 13:37:53 2675369 Link 0 |

The thread topic "Hurling Championship 2026" was intended to cover all of the hurling championship including but not limited to Leinster and Munster Championships. The Munster Hurling final is a huge day out for all Munster hurling people and personally I cant wait for it. LimerickandProud (Limerick) - Posts: 258 - 25/05/2026 13:43:59 2675375 Link 0 |

I noticed Daly wasn't giving out about them giving up but making excuses, tired etc. If it were Galway he'd have a different take on it!

Cork must be hot favourites for Munster and All Ireland now? hlynch12 (Limerick) - Posts: 49 - 25/05/2026 13:58:01 2675380 Link 1 |

Fair play to Dublin and Offaly. With respect to ourselves they writing was on the wall but our rose tinted glasses got in the way. I think this will be a good reset. Sloweddie (Kilkenny) - Posts: 30 - 25/05/2026 14:05:44 2675382 Link 2 |

Apologies, I thought that the provincials were part of the 2026 hurling championship.

You're right. The Munster final should be some game and spectacle.

Tbf it is hard to go down there and win. They have it turned into a cauldron and its a very hostile environment. That said, we are good enough to do it if we hurl to our potential. Cork have to be favourites though given the home advantage.

I wouldn't agree with that Tadgh. The loss of Darragh Fitz (MoM the last day) and Ciaran Joyce is huge. We've just about got away with it up until now, but I would have serious doubts about Damien in that full back line. I don't doubt his commitment and application, but sometimes he can be a liability. Add in Aaron Gillane - who was missing the last day - and it definitely swings it in Limerick's favor. The bookies have Limerick slight odds-on favorites, and I'd say that's just about right. bloodandbandage (Cork) - Posts: 566 - 26/05/2026 08:18:46 2675606 Link 0 |

"Cork have to be favourites though given the home advantage." Why do people always say, so and so 'have to be favourites'? They always say it about the opposition, never their own team. I mean, who cares? What does it matter? For the record, all the bookies have Limerick as favourites. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2899 - 26/05/2026 08:57:45 2675608 Link 0 |

The championship betting is very odd really. Given the skimpy enough prices on Cork and Limerick you would be surely better if inclined to wait for a likely final before plunging rather than taking the silly odds on Limerick in particular given that they have three games at least to play before that. Bound to get better value if you fancy them in one game. Decent odds on both teams for the Munster final if you fancy either. Limerick slightly favourite at 10/11. Bookies themselves are unusually putting up prices that are changing within hours as punters spot market weaknesses. Galway were 2/5 to beat Dublin yesterday morning and that quickly pushed out to 4/7. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4336 - 26/05/2026 09:39:16 2675616 Link 0 |

One thing that will interest me about the Munster final is goal scorers and who gets them. Both Gillane and Barrett have great strike rates against each others teams. Might be worth a bet to back both for a goal! ColmFlaherty (Galway) - Posts: 59 - 26/05/2026 09:58:12 2675619 Link 0 |

I've always found that strange about the GAA mentality. Nobody ever wants to be favourites, particularly in what's likely to be a close game - i.e. nobody ever wants the majority of others thinking that they're good enough that when the chips are down, they'll be the ones to win out. Why not embrace favouritism? "Look lads, we know we're good enough. Loads of other people think that way too. Let's go out there and prove it!". Anyway, for the record - have just checked the Paddy Power site. Their odds are as close as makes no difference. Limerick are 10/11, Cork are 11/10, and the draw is 15/2. I didnt know that Dara Fitz was out at time of posting. I think that if the game is on anywhere else limerick are definitely favourites yes. Cork are very hard to beat in the Pairc though and that's why I put them as favourites in this game. Tadhg2020 (Limerick) - Posts: 480 - 26/05/2026 10:44:37 2675651 Link 0 |
