Replying To legendzxix:  "Separating provincials from the All Ireland shouldn't be such a seismic step. Winning provincial finals this year offers no seeding reward in the All Ireland. The provincials have low impact on All Ireland qualification."
I didn't mention 'winning provincial finals'.

Never said you did! I said it myself for my own point!!
Provincial finals are essentially standalone fixtures. If the finals are standalone, the championships themselves can be standalone.

- Divs named 1a,1b,1c & 2a,2b,2c
- League & prior AIC group match quantities combined
- 10 match schedule for all
- (1a & 1c) v 1b; round robins (1a, 1c, 2a, 2c); (2a & 2c) v 2b
- 10 up (5x top 2, 1b-2c); 10 down (5x bottom 2, 1a-2b)
- League ranking with top 11,11,10 to AIC KO 1,2,3
- Prov KO separate"
Would you ever give it a rest and start attending games.

Between the split season and eagerness by supporters to see how their counties are progressing ahead of a tough Munster hurling championship - seems little grounds for sweeping changes."
Be fair - are you not cherry picking?

Weren't Waterford v Offaly, Antrim v Kildare & Clare v Down played as well.

Replying To omahant:  "Given the Champions League 'Swiss model' experiment
and excitement of Matchday 8:

1) What do you all think of it - is the Swiss model a success?
2) Could or should the GAA adopt a variant - in the League, or in combination with the Championship?"
Rubbish.
What we have may not be perfect but in every other sport they are not perfect either.
Look at the draw for the rugby world cup.
There will be some savage beatings dished out in the group stages there.

I agree on the Rugby World Cup - the depth of talent is just not there for so many teams.

A Swiss Model doesn't mean we'd have 'div 1v4' hammerings - there could be 2 or 3 tiers, so the biggest talent disparity would be 'ranks 1v16, or 17v32' - it's just a way of providing a slate of competitive games, with 'hopefully' sufficient jeopardy, on the road towards an ultimate title.

Kerry played London as well amongst many other games. The hurling league finally has a format that embraces promotion and relegation. The likes of Down will learn some valuable lessons. No longer kept below a glass ceiling.
