Jack O Connor admitted Kerry weren't motoring yet. They are "power rankings" so have a recency bias. You say Kerry are top because they bet Donegal 8 months ago. Power ranking don't attempt to guess who is going to win the All Ireland - they reflect current form as well as long term performance. On Current form - Donegal beat Kerry and haven't lost yet. Kerry should have lost to the Rossies also (but for dodgy refereeing). tirawleybaron (Mayo) - Posts: 1706 - 04/03/2026 14:16:29 2659947 Link 0 |

Don't get so worked up. I promise I'll put Galway up if they wallop Monaghan next week and Armagh don't beat Dublin handy.

Don't assume that I'm worked up, I'm not.

Kerry are playing in second and are very understrength yet. They probably haven't started championship yet. Donegal have been fortunate to take 3 points from the last 2 matches. They could easily have lost both. Kerry are still number 1. They are the team to beat after the way they won the All Ireland last year. In fairness, he's just pointing out an inconsistency. Rankings usually have some basis for change based on performances. His point was Team A were ranked ahead of Team B in a given week. The next weekend, Team A drew with the highest ranked team. Team B lost to a lower ranked team. Yet Team B jumped Team A in the rankings after that weekend. A few tweaks to the logic should sort it out, or a shot of WD-40. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2738 - 06/03/2026 14:19:18 2660314 Link 0 |

There is no way Mayo are 13 places ahead of Down. Can't figure out how Mayo are number 3 and wouldn't be there at end of league even if they win it. They have a bit of a bounce at the moment with new management but against the only really decent outfit (Donegal) I thought they looked way off. Actually expect a weakened Kerry might take them next day out. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 939 - 06/03/2026 15:01:20 2660320 Link 0 |

Down are playing Division 3 teams. The Number 1 team is the only team that beat us and beat us well on the day. Definitely we have a bit of a bounce and the past two years have been in the trough. Wouldn't be a bit surprised to be beaten by Kerry. Both teams will be understrength. Management need to look after their own squads interest but they could have got some publicity if Clifford and Kobe started. Could well be the only game when both of them will play.
