Replying To Lockjaw:  "It is a very interesting time of the year with different clubs and styles going into battle against clubs from other counties and provinces. Hopefully the weather will be reasonable enough over the coming weeks.

In Ulster, I would say Kilcoo will be the team to beat. They have a tough opener against the Tyrone champions. A lot of people think this will be Trillick, but history has shown that predicting the Tyrone champions is a tricky task.
Naomh Conaill from Donegal have a tough assignment away to the Monaghan champions. But if they got over that they'd fancy their chances. A very difficult team to beat. Ciaran Thompson is a massive loss to them though."
Would Newbridge from Derry fancy themselves as dark horses?

Yeah Derry club football is strong so their senior champions always have to be respected.
I see Jordan Morris plays his club ball for Cavan champions Kingscourt. They'd be no mugs either. Every county champion is there on merit so I'm sure no manager of any team will be taking anything for granted.

Replying To legendzxix:  "Has another year on his contract AFAIK. Huge loss. A Stacks player will be going Down Under as well. Kerry is being plundered."
Plundered is an unusual choice of words. I think you'd find that any lads trying to make a go of AFL are choosing to, not being forced to.

If they can get out of Roscommon they will definitely be eying Connacht but they will have their work cut out to beat Padraig Pearses who seem to be just peaking at the right time and will fancy themselves to beat Brigids. Very hard one to call. Pearses will be disgusted they left a Connacht title behind them last year and would have the belief to take down anyone.

Replying To Saynothing:  "It gives exactly what the Down championship doesn't give, a one sided championship from start to finish. Only for an off year Kilcoo would have 13 in a row. Some championship. In Tyrone it's 21 years since team done back to back."
you clearly dont follow anyones Cship but your own , Yes Kilcoo have won a heap of them, but in a lot of those games they have just scraped over the line , The problem in Tyrone is no team good enough to win 2 or 3 in a row ,great teams alright, only 1 Tyrone team has ever won Ulster and no team has ever won the All Ireland

Should be a great game. I'm hoping to get to watch it.

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Would love to see Daingean get to the final and win it. Stacks appear to have reinvented themselves well!

People find Kerry championship puzzling but the jeopardy element keeps clubs on their toes and obviously helps to maintain high standards."
True Barney. It can be confusing but it gives every player a chance to play senior championship football if they good enough no matter what grade their clubs are.As you righly state.it also keep clubs on their toes.

I liked the look of Ballyboden last Sat night. They never panicked and are strong in the right positions.Basquel is a class footballer and Cein Darcy a great fit for them.

"League Sunday" shows league highlights on RTE in the spring. There should be some type of "Club Sunday" showing highlights of the club championships. I often say from the provincial stage but with all the county finals in recent weeks, highlights from these should be the start.
TG4 as always do great work but club championships should be getting the Sunday evening highlights package treatment on RTE as well. What else are RTE doing with TV licence money?!

Is it possibly the most open club championship in years??kerry or cork champions will fancy a run at it..ulster could have any club who could win..Leinster have any club who'll fancy their chances and Connacht will have any of 3 clubs..
In the last 5/6 years there was always a couple of clubs who stood above the rest..

Winning a club championship in Tyrone means more than winning an Ulster club or All Ireland club titles. Kilcoo in Down winning 13 from 14 isn't a championship.

County final on Sunday. Dingle v Stacks. Dingle favourites but Stacks will be confident. Dingle seem to have the majority of their key players back from injury at the right time.
Nineteen county senior championship finals on the schedule for this weekend altogether. The last three months have been action packed!

Daingean looking for a first county title in almost 80 years. They've been very close in recent years and definitely deserve one. Hoping they get the job done.

Totally agree the Tyrone Championship is a proper competitive championship where quite a few teams have realistic chances of winning. Down Championship is non competitive and of poor standard apart from Kilcoo....

It's a championship but Kilcoo are so dominant it was much the same not so long ago with Crossmaglen and the Armagh championship.

I doubt winning Tyrone meant more than winning Ulster for Errigal Ciarán last year? And certainly wouldn't mean more had they gone on to win the All-Ireland

Reckon the Gods have smiled kindly on them for once. All their best players fit and in form.

Moycullen edged Salthill-Knocknacarra to claim a third Galway SFC crown. Ballina Stephenites completed an incredible comeback for their Mayo SFC three-in-a-row. Should be a good Connacht championship contest over the next few weeks.

Well done Moycullen, a fitting tribute to Don Connellan.

I wouldn't be surprised if the winner of Connacht goes on to win the title. Impossible to call the Connacht championship now with the teams involved regardless of who wins in Roscommon today.
