That is the difference between the very good and the elite in all sports. The ability to make good decisions under pressure, or indeed instinctively doing the right thing without consciously making a decision at all.

This can only be achieved through reputation and confidence. My wife is a pretty decorated martial artist and they would say to perfect a kick they have to do it 10,000 times.

We need to be objective about our performance, figure out when and what we've done right and try to do that more often.

I say 40 years because we won a Leinster Minor title in 1985 and we've only won one since

Some would say apathy is seen in the stands at matches and in declining attendances but I would say apathy has more to do with the lack of hurling being done by kids outside of training sessions (And there not being enough training sessions as well)

Although maybe what I call apathy is what another poster described as "going through the motions"

That's a good description of us right now, there was outcry in Kilkenny when they came 4th but I don't think there was a comparable reaction here and we were even worse than them, suppose we've just become too used to mediocrity down through the years
