Replying To zinny:  "If you were to listen to Donal Og he would say that Cork winning an All Ireland is good for Hurling but only a Cork person would ever say that. As regards Leinster, Dublin never reached the level in the QF they can, Offaly were like a deer in the headlights, Kilkenny - something not right and hard to explain what happened this year, I think that is it a one off, Wexford, lost too many big names in the one year to be able to compete at the top level and will need some time to rebuild. All the talk of the demise of Leinster is overblown."
Huw Lawlor was a huge loss for KK. They had to rob Peter to try to pay Paul without really paying Paul at all.

Some of the stuff I'm hearing from our camp now suggests we can actually close the gap pretty quickly which is encouraging.

We would have got some trimming on Saturday if had been in Croke Pk. We are nowhere near that level on physicality or intensity sadly. There is no sugar coating it.

Yeah well done and all that but what's your point. It's a bit sad that you feel the need to come gloating on the Wexford page. You still haven't won anything yet. Limerick will likely put you back in your box.

How many lads playing Senior club hurling this year are eligible for U20 next year?

I'm thinking Oisín Moore, Peter Wickham, Rhys Wickham, Jack Dunne, Ryan Donohoe, Seán Hyland, Jack Leacy, Colin Carley, Cathal Sinnott, Darragh Ryan, Ian Reilly, Mikey Codd, Jack Nolan, Jamie Kennedy, Tomás Fenlon, Eoin O'Neill, Kenny Murphy, Rory Sutton, and Jack Colfer

Obviously then have Seán O'Brien, Ryan Doran, Marin Kisov, Adam O'Connell Byrne, Paddy Quigley, Ronan Shannon, and Marin Kisov in the lower grades

Are any of Corey Ryan, Seán Denton, Joshua Roche, Rian Ormonde, or Liam Cooney eligible for U20 next year?

And is there anyone else I'm leaving out?

Liam Cooney is. Pretty sure the other 4 aren't.

Think you're probably right, also think Jack Young and Tadhg Doyle could be U20 next year as well

Jack Young will be, and he looked good in a couple of the u20 challenge games earlier this year. Tadhg Doyle will be too.

Pat Ryan has been approached, he'll need a bit of convincing but the committee are going to put in the hard yards to see if they can make it happen.

Unless we greatly improve our intensity, have a solid less porous back line and more lads capable of winning puckouts, if not then sadly we are going nowhere.
The above failings won't be solved in the short term or medium term. There is no magic wand that can correct those issues quickly.
Some believe that a new manager will improve things and I sincerely hope so but it really is a poison chalice for whoever gets the gig.
We have been decimated with retirements, injuries players not commiting and guys going travelling. Even with everyone on board I believe we wouldn't be winning leinster.
The only way forward is working on our underage.
We did show some signs of improvements this year but much more needs to be done.

I dunno, would he be a better candidate than Mcgrath?

McGrath very personable, our problem is getting lads to commit I'd imagine Mcgrath would be better than Ryan on that front.

Realistically we are not looking to win anything any time soon, we are looking to build, get lads back to hurl for Wexford and put one foot in front of the other and in a few years hopefully we are competitive

Is there evidence to support that claim Doyler.

Ah ok. I thought he played minor in 2025, must've been 2024. Years flying by.

I couldn't see him being interested in the job tbh

What surprises me is that Derek McGrath would (according to word on the grapevine) be interested in the job when the Waterford job is also an option

Hes been reasonably successful as a Senior manager, and was successful with Corks u20s and Sars. Its a long way from his house to Ferns. Where did you hear that?

Dont care less about what lads are hearing from the camp bit late now action speaks louder than words and its time for action now.
