Afinestick96 that is all on the players. My father was saying lots blaming Rossiter since the weekend, but workrate is a non-negotiable and if you aren't willing to give your all you have no business crossing the white line. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 2011 - 29/04/2026 10:15:51 2669694 Link 0 |

Don't think we have a prayer v Dublin if the 2 x Recks are out. Agreed on getting two more experienced corner backs in but they have very little hurling played this year. Timbertony (Wexford) - Posts: 561 - 29/04/2026 10:45:24 2669704 Link 0 |

I agree with you couldnt believe how easily Kilkenny players were getting out with the ball. The same attitude killed us in Parnell Park last year too our forwards work rate was non existant. I went down a you tube rabbit hole last night and watched our game against Waterford in 2014. Our work rate in our forwards was through the roof and we turned over loads of ball resulting in frees and scores for us. Work rate when you put on a Wexford jersey is a non negotiable and we need to see it upped ten fold if we are to beat Dublin. Jippo was thrown into action with NO gametime under his belt. Jacko has started the last two championship games after ZERO league minutes. If he's willing to bank on experience over gametime in the two scenarios above, he has to be willing to spring one or two more out of the cold too, otherwise our season will be over if he persists with lads not suited to the positions they are picked in. But hey at least Carley did alright against Kildare! beano (Wexford) - Posts: 1542 - 29/04/2026 12:28:42 2669732 Link 0 |

Where is this news about both Recks being out? I've literally seen/heard nothing about it except on this forum. God it's going to be a gigtanic mountain to climb if true, so hard not to reach for what-ifs/maybes with the amount of injuries and lads opting out. Hard to not to feel like it's going to be a lost year. If any county including Cork and Limerick were down the numbers we are they would be a shadow of themselves. I really feel for Rossi, he's been dealth a horrendous hand and he never makes a big thing of it. Fulgrim (Wexford) - Posts: 286 - 29/04/2026 12:51:07 2669738 Link 0 |

Confirmed the footballers play Limerick at 6 on Saturday week. Lets get at least 7 or 8k into the park . Bring the underage teams out like Kilkenny did last week. Create a great atmosphere and hopefully both teams can deliver Afinestick96 (Wexford) - Posts: 1031 - 29/04/2026 14:45:24 2669776 Link 0 |

Think Mikey Butler had 3 or 4 wides from the same position last Saturday with nobody within yards of him, as just one example. Unacceptable at every level. Our forwards, Foley aside, didn't even compete with intensity without the ball. Management seem stiff scared that our backs aren't able to compete in the air and we funnel numbers back to cover space. But they aren't doing anything to stop the opposition from playing that I could make out. Love to see v Dublin we push up and force them to hit every puck out long into a contested space.

Would love to see that happen too but its been happening far too much under this management team. We sat way too far back against the Dubs last year their backs were able to get out way too easily the same as last Saturday. I agree we you if we are to win on Saturday week we must push up put them under pressure. It leads to turn overs, mis hits , mis placed passes etc. We cant let them waltz up there pitch and give them loads of time to pick out Hetherton and co like last year. Its time for both management and players to produce a big performance next Saturday Afinestick96 (Wexford) - Posts: 1031 - 29/04/2026 15:42:40 2669807 Link 0 |

Trying to remember the last big double header at home, was it v Limerick in hurling and Roscommon in football onna dreadful day weather wise. Not great on results front either as we lost both games narrowly enough WEXILE (Wexford) - Posts: 482 - 29/04/2026 15:55:02 2669810 Link 0 |

Limerick bear us easily in hurling, the footballers drew with Roscommon & lost the replay the following week

I remember that maybe around 2009 I think? I would say the last big double header was 2011 Leinster football Quarter final we bet Westmeath well and Lost to Kilkenny in the Leinster Hurling Semi Final by 11 points I think. Delighted sense has prevailed hopefully its a fine day. Lets hope the county board can come up with an initiative to get as many kids in the park next Saturday Afinestick96 (Wexford) - Posts: 1031 - 29/04/2026 16:04:16 2669818 Link 0 |

Footballers played Derry in 2019 on the same day the hurlers played Carlow but don't know if that counts as big ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 1134 - 29/04/2026 17:17:18 2669830 Link 0 |

Based on what we have seen this year, we only have a small prayer even if they fit. Seriously concerned about all 3 remaining games Yellowhelmet (Australia) - Posts: 176 - 29/04/2026 17:44:34 2669835 Link 0 |
